That is so wrong.

I've seen your efforts, and even though I am not a Mesa pilot, I appreciate what you post. Good on you.

It's scary what some people perceive to be true.

Good-Faith Bargaining Law and Legal Definition:
Good-faith bargaining generally refers to the duty of the parties to meet and negotiate at reasonable times with willingness to reach agreement on matters within the scope of representation; however, neither party is required to make a concession or agree to any proposal.

Good faith bargaining requires employers and unions involved in collective bargaining to:
use their best endeavors to agree to an effective bargaining process

meet and consider and respond to proposals made by each other

respect the role of the other's representative by not seeking to bargain directly with those for whom the representative acts

not do anything to undermine the bargaining process or the authority of the other's representative.

All of that has been happening. The fact there was an tentative agreement not that long ago proves it. It has absolutely 0 to do with one side giving the other what they feel is right.
According to a union rep, you're wrong ... none of that has happened. In fact, they got so fed up with the company no-showing negotiation meetings and then stonewalling during the few they actually did show up for, in late January the negotiating committee threw the proposed contract on JOs desk and told him to take it or leave it but they're done with their futile efforts in attempting to deal with him. According to the Mec rep, they are no closer to anything meaningful than they were over a year ago. Regardless of the propaganda we're being fed by the likes of Capt. Steve Trick in his little rumor-mill newsletter and the emails from JO, the company IS NOT bargaining in good faith. In fact, they're not attempting to bargain at all.

I must admit I have no knowledge of the negotiation process but can't you guys just go on strike. What would it take to be released? Seems like this story has gone on so long.

Authorization from the National Mediation Board. Strikes don't just happen.

If the union was smart they would file for mediation. Then the company has to come to the table and negotiate in good faith or risk the mediator releasing the pilot group to a 30 day cooling off period. Why oh why they are still trying to go about it on their own is stupid. You can only get released to strike after a mediator releases you. Oh Mesa ALPA....

WT is right. For the people stuck at mesa.....Everyone should be typing emails/calling their reps to get answers on the reason why Mesa ALPA is doing nothing and continues to act sackless and spineless. Filing for mediation should have been done a looooooooooooooong time ago. For everyone else, I hope you have plans on leaving. Even a lateral move can't come soon enough. Every day that goes by is extra money in management's pocket and less in yours.

It's an even better time to be writing a resignation letter, as you suggested

Let this place burn...

The silence from the union about the bigger bonus is deafening...
