For who? Most legacies are close to being scoped out if not already there and they are looking to downsize regional feed. And that's besides the point of, "how will you staff it"?

The 900's for American and the Ejets for United. I heard it from someone that has good rumor intel and is usually right on...

I have no ideal how Mesa could staff it but somehow they have found a way.

I thought the majors were scoped out too but I guess someone is going to pay the price. Probably Air Whisky or the like.

But if they were originally going to PSA and are now going to MESA there is no net gain in jets for AAG.

Also heard from a Expressjet CA that they have been notified that their contract with AAG is not going to be renewed. They have already been notified that DFW will be closing for them in 2017. His thought was the capacity and planes would go to United.

That was for ERJ-145s and the contract was always going to end in 2017. It wouldn't effect us. Those jets if they are kept by AAG will go to Piedmont.

Looks like the old ALPA MEC chair is showing a 0 on the global seniority list. Does that mean he's quitting Mesa?

Those rumored 20 900s were never slated for PSA... We are taking delivery of our very last 900 here soon and we were supposed to resume delivery of the remaining 30-something Envoy 700s but that isn't looking likely now. I'd say these were perhaps slated for someone else or replacements for someone's soon to be lost flying...

Actually, there are quite a few folks with 0's. Spirit's hiring in Dallas, Allegiant's hiring in Phoenix, Atlas is hiring... everywhere. Once summer ends, hiring from all the other big boys will probably pick up again too. Meanwhile, new hires are at a trickle and it sounds like some classes get cancelled for lack of applicants. 200% time is rampant and reserve grids are ugly.

Of course, some of that will be remedied with the end of summer schedules in a month, but I seriously question the company's ability to attract new talent. They were somehow managing for a while, but it seems we've finally reached a brick wall. Sure, there will still be a few new hires, but with attrition I just don't see much good in the future.

Upgrades might continue somewhat to cover Captains leaving and to allow for Captain on Captain flying, but with so few coming in at the bottom, optimistically the upgrade train is... slowing. That really hurts the one and only carrot management has left to attract pilots, putting us about where Republic was just over a year ago.

So like them, maybe we get that sweet new contract when things come to a head and flights are canceling. Realistically, I don't see that happening, but I'd allow for the possibility. The problem is, it seems to be a matter of paying for pilots or paying for engine overhauls. Going public might generate the necessary cash to scrape by on both, but many have suggested you need the labor contract beforehand, so it's a catch-22.

Maybe pilots are given an adequate TA, Mesa declares bankruptcy like Republic, renegotiates their FFD contracts with mainline, and comes out of it alive. That's tricky, but a precedent has been set by RAH.

Another possibility is that ALPA merger fund finally coming in handy... SkyWest (or whoever) gobbles up our 900's/Ejets to replace their 50-seat retirements and, just as importantly, 1250 pilots. More and more this seems like a potential future, and it's ironic because similar acquisitions are how Mesa got to be what it is. But I guess that's the nature of the industry coming full circle.
