Pilots are replaceable, they just may come at a higher cost. 38,400 seems reasonable for a position that does not require a college degree.
You must be some kind of stupid. Pilots are replaceable? You must also believe we will be using uav's for transport category aircraft by 2016...

Wait until fuel hedges up or the economy hiccups, you'll get a chance to see how replaceable pilots are.

You are correct. EDV pay does not go down 2nd year as the AA WO pay does, and EDV is working now to possibly get rid of the bonuses and incorporate it into an hourly pay (at least the pilot group hopes for that, so that it can't be taken away). Not sure if the AA WOs will follow suit.

Just throwing the numbers out there for you guys to think about if it comes to a vote for your group. $30 bucks an hour with a $30K bonus ($57K or $63.33/hr min guarantee) are the numbers to beat. Hopefully all of you are able to attain that. It's nothing short of ridiculous that a 3-year CA at Mesa makes what a 1-day FO does at other regionals.

Please explain what it means when "fuel hedges up."

Ehhh I am not going to shamelessly troll. I don't really care what pilots get paid, it's really how YV pilots go about it that irks me.

Well if you consider they're getting like half the going rate, you might consider giving them a pass. They should be using whatever tactics necessary.

The pity is the tactics they are using don't work. Have you seen the stupid billboard in IAH they put up. The only non-pilot who understands it is me.

They would have been better off with this message "your garbage man gets paid more than your pilot on Mesa."

Wow, right out of the gate blaming the government. I was expecting it a little later in the game.

You guys hearing these dings? They're grating. Is that people calling in?

Also, know your audience; why is he bothering complaining about the 1500 hour rule?
