What, do you send out surveys? 23 IAH FOs aren't leaving in December.

Public Service Announcement:
For those Captains on the EJET. There are numerous FO's leaving before Christmas. If you are at the bottom 10-20% There is a strong chance you'll be downgraded by February. Mesa can't hire for attrition on the EJET side right now. If you think you're safe and you keep telling yourself I'm only here until I get my 1000 hours PIC, you'll be sorry you didn't get out now. Management does not have the money or the answers for what's to come next. Good luck

The only way I see that happening is if we lose some of our 175's to another company. Otherwise we would be way understaffed on the captain side.

United owns the first (30?) so when the time comes, that's probably what will happen. But JO says we're staffed and pay/benefits aren't the issue, so we should just believe him.

It will happen. And yes there will be some planes parked or given away. Skywest has the pilots, the E175 training and would love to come back to IAH with 175's.

Well let's hope the union can pull something great together in the next few months to fix our staffing problem...

Why make baseless rumors? Don't get me wrong, I would most definitely enjoy an industry-average contract, and I understand that an understaffing situation would potentially give us leverage to reach that.

But do you really think just because some F.O.s say the are leaving, or want to leave there will be automatic downgrades? Wanting to go somewhere else, or interviewing somewhere else is very different than actually going somewhere else.

How many F.O.s you think are going to leave anyways? do you have a number? Personally, right now I do not see any signs of understaffing even though we have been loosing pilots over the past few months. That tells me we are eating up into the reserves right now. Then the junior assignments have to come. Then we might start to get a more realistic picture of what is going to happen (new contract to somewhat control staffing, or shrinkage with downgrades). I don't really see what your point is in trying to persuade Captains to leave right now. It is not your business what they do with their life, is it?

I think we might actually see Republic open up an E-170/175 domicile at IAH before SkyWest does so. SkyWest still has a shrunken CRJ domicile in IAH. RAH (first Shuttle and nowadays Republic) has had a strong presence at IAH since the beginning of the UA CO merger, and they have enough flying to support a domicile there. They just don't have the domicile because it goes against their (in my opinion non-sense) outstation base system. Also, we have to remember that the main reason we got the additional 18 E-175s was because Republic was restructuring and fixing their staffing issues. Once they are up and running back again they will be in a good position to take their airframes back. But then again, I presume that Mesa's performance will have to decline due to staffing issues, before United takes the flying away from us.

And keep hoping for your upgrade that may never come.

Ok. Everyone but you head my advice. And since when is APC all about factual postings. My post was directed at Captains who are on the fence about leaving for a cargo or LCC company.
All I can finish with is watch and see. Except for you. You can keep your head buried in the sand or up managements arse. Your choice.
