We do have a few guys commuting from the West; I think one guy comes from Seattle. We have a commuter clause that says you can try two American flights that arrive before your show time then you are excused from your trip. When we non-rev (on American) we get the same priority as mainline pilots, priority goes by whoever checks in first. So you can bump a 30 year 777 Captain by checking in 24 hours in advance.
But what I do know is that American wants Piedmont to be equal to all the other WO. We will grow to 700 pilots by next year. I think we will be over 1000 in the next two years. Currently at 500. Think Compass or PSA a few years ago. So if you can get on now your in a good spot. Guys that are coming on now with 121 time are getting Captain bids in just a few months after IOE.

possibly in the future or if we get 175's. These planes we have now will have to be replaced at some point. In 5 years some of our jet's will time out and I think we will get 175's at that point. Some people say American spent the money to get jet's on our cert to eventually get bigger jet's. There is a rumor that we are getting 175's next year, but that is just the rumormill. If we did get 175's next year and took over some West Coast flying we could get a base out there.

Hey everyone. If your you are a commuter and are interested in having unlimited Internet access in the sky for a low fee monthly fee PM me. We have a group of pilots that share a monthly account and split the cost to make it more affordable. This service can be used on United, AA, Virgin, Alaska, American, Delta. Recently a pilot of ours left for a LCC and his slot opened up. Service works great and costs less than $25 depending on how many people are in the group at the time.

Read the terms and conditions of the Gogo service. While you may certainly share it (and I do with my account, too) you can't resell it. At the published retail price of $59.95 per month, if you have more than two participating in your $25 scheme you are reselling at a profit. Good for you .. but be careful advertising that fact in a public forum.
Anyway, let's get back to the subject at hand in this forum. Hey...how many are tempted to apply for an instructor position after yesterday's company e-mail?

For those who don't read/get the hotline I'm looking for new volunteers to help out.
In the next few months, a major update to the NavTech PBS product will be coming out. As such, the Scheduling Committee is looking to increase its volunteer ranks. Individuals who feel they have a fairly good understanding of PBS bidding and operation can email [email protected] and state their desire to volunteer. Position awards will be based off of follow-up conversations regarding skill level and suitability to task.
Details are still being worked out on the training for this new update, but trainers will be pulled from the ranks of the MagPBS list to assist in the roll-out and education concerning the change.
