Mesa seems to have money to remodel the crystal palace. They have loads of money to attract and acquire new hires. That new hire money seems to be never ending.
How about Mesa spending money to retain its pilots with competitive wages, health benefits, and QOL improvements.

And what if Mesa does have a stock pile of money and have been fooling us this whole time? I'm not gonna play any "what if" games. Let's make our way toward mediation and find out.

It's really pretty easy to see where this is going.
The reason they don't or can't or won't pay industry standard is irrelevant. They either pay it, and the company continues to operate. Or they don't, and it doesn't. It's really as simple as that.

If Mesa can't pay the new industry standard wages, benefits, and QOL, (for whatever reason), then they will not be able to retain or attract FO's. If they don't have FO's, there will be no upgrades. People will leave, and the ship will sink. This is already happening.

It really isn't that simple.

If they truly have no money, that is the result of years of mismanagement by JO and others responsible for the financial decisions this company makes...not the fault of the pilots. If that is the case, perhaps they shouldn't be in business at all. In the next five years I'd imagine that a few regionals will go the way of the do-do, maybe Mesa is the first one to have its head on the chopping block.

I do know is that to pay the flight crew members another 10 or 15 bucks an hour is a drop in the bucket in comparison. If you believe their story that they can't afford to come off another 50 or 60 bucks an hour to be split by the flight crew then you're delusional. Mesa may be cutting their profit margin pretty close to the bone, but not THAT close.
