The roadshow presentation was clearly well rehearsed and had a clear message. Mesa has no money and we need to take the deal now in order to get what we can. Unfortunately, the issues in the contract are too big for even the MEC to get around. Pay will be by far the lowest in the industry, and especially for FOs it is downright embarrassing. There are too many company discretion and "when staffing permits" in the contract. Also, 5 years in this environment is way too long. Still a NO vote from me. It is time Mesa isn't the butt of every joke in the industry anymore.

My other takeaway is that A.H. is a dick.

Wowwwwwww...AH needs to be bent over hat-in-hand if he thinks we're going to vote in this turd to help him get a management pilot's job down the road.
Lol sounds like he doesn't know how to play this game. Go watch an episode of House of Cards, AW!!! At least pretend to be conciliatory when asking people to vote for something that is going to screw everyone else and benefit yourself bro!!!

Sorry to say, but why should anyone at Mesa give a crap about the new guys pay? Every single new hire is getting paid what they are worth, set fourth by their decision to come here and knowingly work for that pay. Our new hire classes are always full, the quick upgrade is dead, and our benefits are horrible.
Why should the pilot group, with any amount of seniority care? Let the market dictate what a new hire is worth, let supply and demand dictate to J.O. what a new hire is worth. Any of us with any seniority shouldn't care.

Shouldn't the company be held accountable to bid contracts that can support at least an industry average contract. If we can not secure business at prices that make conducive an average compensation and QOL, then maybe we should not be in the airline business. I will gladly put it all on the line knowing the potential that I may have to step aside and move on to another carrier.

only 1 of the 4 officers lives in phx. And I know for a fact our men chair has no desire to be a lifer here
Well, the last two MEC chairs are now in management positions, so I think you might have a point here.
Can't blame them--if I lived in Phoenix I'd def be gunning to be on the MEC and/or signing off on TAs like this and buddying up with management myself.
There's a very long history of MEC chiefs securing management positions after winning concessionary contracts for the company. Go talk to a FedEx pilot about Frank Fato and the parking lot deal if you want an epic example from history.
