New Mesa Thread

What sennant said. There is so much more to a TA than pay rates and other big issue bullet points. People form initial impressions of things based on emotion and preliminary understanding (look at all the shenanigans and later, "interpretations" that came out from far 117). They (the Mec) is going to want to let things marinade, give people a chance to ask questions and fully understand what they're voting on before it goes to a vote... So I would assume a week or two after the last road show, whenever that will be.

Enough of this tomfoolery...we aren't here to argue over meaningless vitriol.
I hope there is language in the new TA that concerns scheduling and reserve buffers. It seems they just arbitrarily set a number at random times. For instance this month when SAP opened it was showing the buffer for PHX FOs for 12 then it went up to 20 at some point that afternoon. Maybe I'm missing something but it would be nice if there were hard rules about this to hold scheduling accountable over.
Somebody correct me if I'm missing something here.

They have plenty of data with which they could algorithmically set buffers on a daily basis within each month: they know what average rolling block times are going to be on a daily/weekly/monthly basis within each domicile. They know what days are going to have historically higher or lower absences.
Yet, in the overall calculus of airline operations, the cost of a controllable cancellation or delay costs them much more than the headache of algorithmically optimizing reserve buffers on a day-to-day basis (unless there is firm contract language incentivizing them to pay attention to such things, which this TA might--might--do, from what I am told).
They would certainly save themselves a lot of money on specific days & months by calculating daily reserve buffers ad-hoc. But they seem to care more about protecting the feed and the D0 numbers. This is true at most 121 regionals I am aware of.

Your not. And it was one of the reasons negotiations took so long
