You must have terrible sources. I have a family member in upgrade class right now at Horizon. 2.5 years on property. It is most definitely not 5 years. Not even close.

Got a question about mesa line or better pay.
Let's assume a line of 90 hours, then overblock by 2 hours. Now if I drop a 5 hour trip, my understanding is that the overblock credit is gone.

Will picking up a 5 hour trip from open time get me the over block credit back?

All correct, also to add:

It's a line guarantee, not a leg/day/trip guarantee. If one trip over blocks by two hours, and another under blocks by two hours, you're back to breaking even.

This is incorrect. We are paid block or better for each flight segment. They then compare your total (scheduled plus overblock) credits flown for the month to the line guarantee and pay you the higher of the 2 amounts. Underblocking does not cancel out overblocking.

I'm pretty sure he was right. Hence why we have a "line gaurantee" but no leg by leg cancellation pay. If what you're saying is true I would be making way more a month lol.

You are talking about two different things with regard to over/under blocking and cancelation pay. We get paid block or better per leg. You will always get credit for over blocking, and under blocking has zero effect on your monthly credit. Cancellations are a different story.

There is leg by leg block or better and cancelation pay. The thing that gets you is the way they treat a cancelation, which will eat all your overages down to your line guarantee. So if you have no cancelations in a month, your credit will usually exceed your block in flica, because you get credit for scheduled time if you underblock and get credited for block if you over block. If you have a cancelation, and your overages then don't exceed the amount of your cancelation, you get your line guarantee. So it's not a leg by leg cancelation pay, but it is a leg by leg block or better. And there is cancelation pay, but that usually means you are just getting your line guarantee and not getting paid for over blocking that month.

That is very easy to see in rainmaker, and it's in your contract. I'm kind of surprised people don't know the pay rules they work under. Checking flica for each leg's original scheduled block, actual block, and associated credit in rainmaker isn't that difficult. How else are you going to know if you are getting paid accurately?
