Face palm. No harm no foul? Since the plane wasn't damaged we can't speak on how dangerous the situtation actually was? Did I wake up in 1970?

20 yrs in the industry brings out the eccentricities. I knew a lifer who compulsively combed his hair, even while on final or taxiing. It caused problems, and I wish I had spoken up when his compulsive combing caused him to hesitate on an "expedite" instruction. Moral: speak up.

Do you actually know what happened? I am familiar with the story and the people involved. Stuff happens everywhere including mainline with very experienced pilots.

The point is that failing to admit that the wingtip strike was a serious event and writing it off as "no harm, no foul" reinforces people's perception that the Mesa pilot group is a bunch of clueless cowboys. I wasn't saying that it doesn't happen at other carriers or that it couldn't happen to me, just saying that "it's not broken, no problem here" is a pretty silly way to look at it.

What happened to the guy that took out the wing of the 757 in Phx with the tail of the 900? They had said that him and a few others had upgraded but didn't have the time required?
