Where in our contract does it talk about street captains? How can the company in one mail tell the FOs on property to make sure the recommendations are within 6 months and in another talk about hiring captains from the street. How will the street captains fulfilled section 11E 5, and get recommendations if they are directly trained for that seat. Can the company call it operational necessity and disregard that part?
Or is it just a way for the company get people talking and get more people in the door and at the same time rattle some FOs into upgrade into the CRJ instead of waiting for the E-jet?

As usual, they're opting for the new-hire pilot option instead of junior assigning people to the left seat in a base they don't want.

Hmm Flaps... Perhaps the E-Jet bubble you're locked into is the equivelent of wearing blinders, at least based on the newest standing bid email!!!!
"We are at a point with CRJ CA bids that, should we not be able to fill classes again on this run of 16-10, we will need to go to the option of hiring street captains on the next award".
So yes! The quick upgrade train is alive and well! To the guy who says he can't hold a CA position, you are full of it, or something is wrong with your upgrade bid

See, I told you guys. This guy is definitely a management/recruiter man. He lies like a recruiter (we have the hottest flight attendants), and says come here for the super quick upgrade. OK. Truth: There are at least 100 first officers looking for upgrade in the 2014 hire pool. You WILL NOT get a quick upgrade. There has not been a upgrade class for DFW in months. Oh, and Mr. "Out of trim" I can hear you cry from here. Lol

Am I a management type for believing that there is no one out to get us at the company? Am I a management type for believing this company will do what it says? I honestly believe they will need street captains if no one applies for a CRJ CA spot. My friend at Envoy would come here for that.
And if people refuse to upgrade to the CRJ, they must not need the near 100% pay increase... That tells more than anything.

So can a new hire in training with 2000 hours part 121 bid CRJ CA right away?

You might not get it, but you can bid for whatever you want.
And if they were REALLY desperate, they could always open up CA vacancies in PHX and DFW and then TDY or route people to IAD or wherever.

No you cannot. I have been with Mesa for a year. Been on reserve for 8 months. Worse 8 months of my career. (They really abuse you). I am looking for at least another year to year and a half to upgrade, and I have the 1000 hours. The recruiter just LIED. Go for the pay and QOL. That's not Mesa.

Wow! I thought that finding another job was hard. Mesa, got to say goodbye. I found a new gig within a week. Pays more than double, and benefits are “way better”. No OBAMACARE for me. You all enjoy your less than adequate pay and benefits, for the hope of an early upgrade. It will not happen. All of the upgrades in the next 3-4 years are already on the property. So you can take your $22.00/hr and OBAMACARE, and……………….. Peace out.
