Less movement on the captain side. Wayyyy more lifer crj captains. I think the thought process of most people is wait an extra month or two as an FO vs. Being in stagnation as a crj captain.

As usual, they're opting for the new-hire pilot option instead of junior assigning people to the left seat in a base they don't want.

See, I told you guys. This guy is definitely a management/recruiter man. He lies like a recruiter (we have the hottest flight attendants), and says come here for the super quick upgrade. OK. Truth: There are at least 100 first officers looking for upgrade in the 2014 hire pool. You WILL NOT get a quick upgrade. There has not been a upgrade class for DFW in months. Oh, and Mr. "Out of trim" I can hear you cry from here. Lol

If you are a 2014 hire and haven't upgraded yet. It means your not smart enough to submit a Capt qualification worksheet or you only want the shiny Ejet. It's not some conspirecy theory that the company might need to go to street Capts. They had almost no one bid for the crj on this last bid.

Yep, you got me... Theres a couple of people on here who know who I am, and they are probaly laughing pretty hard right now. I was never part of the instant gratification crowd that so many complainers on here are obviously from... You go from zero jet time to the right seat of a 82,000lb jet and get ****y that you don't have 4 bars after two years... I got very lucky but I never expected it, and I wouldn't be *****ing about it if I didn't get it. There are so many pilots at Mesa who have had it much worse than all you new guys complaining. Even if it takes four years for you to upgrade, you would still be considered one of the lucky ones. Try 8 years, then getting down graded for a few years to finally be a CA again? My Envoy buddy was only on reserve for 5 years as a commuter. What a bunch of self entitled, instant gratification millenial whiners!
Am I a management type for believing that there is no one out to get us at the company? Am I a management type for believing this company will do what it says? I honestly believe they will need street captains if no one applies for a CRJ CA spot. My friend at Envoy would come here for that.
And if people refuse to upgrade to the CRJ, they must not need the near 100% pay increase... That tells more than anything.

You might not get it, but you can bid for whatever you want.

And if they were REALLY desperate, they could always open up CA vacancies in PHX and DFW and then TDY or route people to IAD or wherever.

You've been here a year and on reserve for 8 months. Which means that it took you 4 months to get through training and have actually only been flying for 8 months. And you're crying about how you haven't been able to upgrade yet! Good lord man, no upgrade after flying for 8 whole months! Do you even realize how silly you sound? My guess is that it's true ... you won't upgrade anytime soon here at Mesa. But not because Mesa's the problem, but because your flying sucks and you're an immature little punk. So, yeah, you're probably better off taking your vast 8 months of (bad) career experience elsewhere like you keep spouting off about because I'll bet Mesa's also got your number. Word to your mommy.
