Asked a serious question not sure why some people are incapable of having a serious discussion. If you disagree feel free to say so as some of the other responses, no need to type unintelligible gibberish as attempt to insult because we do not agree.

As was said, if line pilots are submitting these articals, and fellow line pilots are going outside the box to get the job done, and they just want to let others know, whats the harm? Don't give me any bullcrap about the contract. When its day 4 of 4 and I have a flight to catch, I am going to come across as a company man, even though it is 100% selfish intentions. I pay extra to have the ability to use my phone in Mexico(ever had a MX nightmare in Mexico? Ever try resolving it with just acars?), I will look up and get the release on my phone, I will do everything possible to get that flight out on time, and in early. I want the free hotels at night, I want my trip to be as smooth and easy as possible. This has nothing to do with being a company man, nothing to do with the contract or union bs. It is totally self serving, and in this case, everyone benefits from it, not that I care about that!

.
Was not suggesting anything as clandestine as that, however some of us do feel that some members of the MEC are little too friendly with management, thus the sentiment. I do however appreciate your and MagPBS's point about safety.
What I mean is I doubt there's some Mec shadow council that meets during the full moon in an underground bunker to plot about how to **** us off. Most of those emails are submitted by line pilots that want to pass on information about something that happened or how something was avoided.

If you don't like the quality of safety articles, written by volunteer line pilots, then maybe you should pick up a pen and start writing.
Unless you are going to offer a solution, just shut up.

Good idea. Curious though why Mesa has one of the best pilot groups but has one of the most abrasive forums. I will refrain from any further posts and pursue a hobby and maybe even get a life.

Not saying there are not Mesa people that come on here and cause problems but go back and read and I think you will find that most of the butthurt and hate comes from other regional guys. For some reason they feel the need to validate themselves by coming in this thread with a holier than thou attitude and troll on through.

The safety and scheduling committees are different animals in the union landscape. Our jobs are to stay out of the political fray and work collaboratively with the company for the betterment of both sides. That's why years ago when ALPA was locked out of corporate without an express invite, both scheduling and safety were excempt.
Many of the safety department volunteers are also check airman. For years the seeds of safety hotline was written my a rather prominent check airman.
The jist of this seed that I take away is there are ways to not get rushed and compromise safety in the process. Rushing at the last minute is the biggest cause of issues. Just go look at the asap reports.
Every one here is a volunteer who does a lot of this work on our off times or on overnights. We ALL fly the line including the MEC. Just try and remember that.

Locked out? Yes I read about that
Vote of no confidence of Your CEO
91 percent agreeing that he will be a distaster if he stays and therefore pilots had no confidence on him ..... 2006 or 2007 I think it was and it was Initiated by a captain rep that later on Became your MEC Chair.
I guess it was a correct assessment given what followed
350 million Hawaii disaster and Ch11 and your CEO is still there
Amazing to say the least
