No not new but this the most blatantly ridiculous one I've seen. At least some of the others ones have some advice for keeping us out of trouble.

Also full disclosure... I rarely read that s..t

Please read van drivers post. If in sap and the reserve grid is green and he wants to drop it, who is the company to say you are loosing to much credit? If it's green why not. Is their really such thing as loosing to much credit for a line holder? I should be able to drop the whole month if the grid allowed it. Or am I missing something?

I completely agree with this. Why is ALPA putting this Shi* out. Rather than it being called a slice of safety it should be called a A minuet with Mesa's Whor*s. I say every one needs to send them an email requesting to be taken off the slice of safety email list. Just goes to show where their priorities are.

You do realize that a lot of those are written by random people that send them in, right?

Not sure what you mean, please elaborate. Regardless ALPA Is responsible for its content. They should not be publishing this to us encouraging us to use or cell minutes to download releases, instead they should work on the company to get us our releases on time.

What I mean is I doubt there's some Mec shadow council that meets during the full moon in an underground bunker to plot about how to **** us off. Most of those emails are submitted by line pilots that want to pass on information about something that happened or how something was avoided.

The safety and scheduling committees are different animals in the union landscape. Our jobs are to stay out of the political fray and work collaboratively with the company for the betterment of both sides. That's why years ago when ALPA was locked out of corporate without an express invite, both scheduling and safety were excempt.

Many of the safety department volunteers are also check airman. For years the seeds of safety hotline was written my a rather prominent check airman.

The jist of this seed that I take away is there are ways to not get rushed and compromise safety in the process. Rushing at the last minute is the biggest cause of issues. Just go look at the asap reports.

Every one here is a volunteer who does a lot of this work on our off times or on overnights. We ALL fly the line including the MEC. Just try and remember that.

Dropping is doable in that case...swapping is not. It's in an LOA is what I think MagPBS already posted subsequent to van drivers post. For example, I dropped most of my trips this month and it was approved during SAP almost instantly. Had I instead tried to swap 4 trips for 1 trip, thus going from 80 hrs credit to 20 hrs credit, it wouldn't let me due to my losing too much credit. So if you want to swap during sap for lower credit, drop and add as separate transactions.
