Mesa acquires $245 million in funding for their Ejets. How does this company keep getting financing to grow the company and still somehow screw over the pilots?

Because the pilots let them. Unfortunately.

Scottydo, I will, but I may be one of the OFs- retired USAF. I'll let you know the demographics of the new class.

I do hope reserve goes to long call short call added to the monthly bid this costs them nothing and gives us a better QOL. A tiny win for QOL. Makes long call commutable and tolerable if you know your scheldule.

If you've been following this thread you'll understand the company doesn't give you anything without conceding something in return. Our last TA had a lot of loose language in favor of the company. And ALPA sent out an email and Poll that also had concessions. Typical question was "If you would like pay raises are you willing to give up QOL"? This is what we've been dealing with. Good luck with your long/short call reserve.

From one old fart to another welcome aboard. Plan on spending about two to three months doing a lot of ready reserve. Your first month off IOE they will fly you a lot to get your consolidation. Then you'll spend a lot of time at the airport usually with two or three other FOs on ready reserve. Why they need more than two is beyond me. So far I'm very disappointed but to be fair I'll wait until I get off reserve to pass a final judgement. Reserve here absolutely sucks compared to where I came from. They don't have a problem calling you at 4 am to tell you you have a 6pm showtime for a flight. Why they need to call you then is beyond me but they will. The crews have been great. Haven't found a dudd yet but I'm sure they're out there. I think my age garners a smidgen of respect so maybe they treat me a little different than someone 35 years my junior. There are some things I like better here at Mesa than my last gig and some things I like less. When it comes to regionals if you can remember the saying "embrace the suck" things may not seem so bad. Expect the company to do what is best for them and not for you.

Where are you hoping to be domiciled?

From wiki "An equipment trust certificate (ETC) is a financial security used in aircraft finance, most commonly to take advantage of tax benefits in North America."

So none of this money will be for us. Just wanted to clarify a little bit for those wondering what this is about.

We already went down that road with the failed TA I don't expect the new team will be wasting capital on fluff items this time around. We have a lot more important 'meat and potatoes' issues that need to be addressed first.

Anyone else catch wind of a resignation letter from the IAH base admin? Apparently he or she railed on this company for being unprofessional and then peaced out, but not before emailing the resignation letter to the entire base.
