FWIW the guy who was at the bottom of the seniority list as of Oct 13th (1199 Sept hire) is 1167 as of yesterday's seniority list update. One month and he moved up 32 spots. Looking at the July hires, they moved up about 27 spots. June hires about 25 spots. That's pretty good attrition off the bottom. Only a few came from the top 2/3 of the seniority list. The majority who bailed are still on probation (and under training contract). I'm guessing the new planes will curb attrition/boost hiring for the short term, but only for enough time for JO to come up with his next move.

This referral thing is where our spineless union needs to jump in. There needs to be a memo sent out condemning this referral practice. Any union worth a damn would do this. The union also needs to create a website like republics with the main goal of turning perspective pilots away from this airline. JO is obviously feeling the heat right now it is time to take action and get the leverage they said we never would have. Again I ask where the hell is our union!

November is a slower month and there are fewer block hours, I have no idea? Ask the scheduling committee...they can provide specific insight. XS is very helpful. I don't pay attention to Dallas. And there is no "if this is true" I have the seniority list screenshot from oct 13th and from this month and I compared them. Not that hard to do. There are 8 more Dec. lines than Nov. lines estimated next month in DFW, so it should go back up.

I'd rather move slowly in the right direction then quickly in the WRONG direction. And who said anything about letting the union have a part of it? Things get bad enough, JO WILL throw out an offer and the pilot group will tell the union if they like it or not.

You don't think bypassing the union in a LBFO type move would be moving quickly in the wrong direction? They'd probably throw one to two "big point" items like an acceptable pay rise, and cut other important things under our noses. Most people would pull the trigger and vote. Is that really something you want?

Unfortunately, the odds of the company providing us with something anyone would consider "industry standard" or even acceptable without fighting tooth and nail on every little detail along the way with negotiations are basically zero. It's never going to be an issue of minor tweaks. Regardless of how effective you think the outgoing negotiating committee, the position is necessary.

I just wonder if we might end up in Republic's position. The more I think about it, the more a merger seems in the realm of possibility.
