New Mesa Thread

They are not getting new flying, but that's because they have higher costs than say, SkyWest. It's been a place people actually wanted to work at, as opposed to being the only place that wold take you. When you bring up "bottom of the barrel", people instantly think of places like Great Lakes, Mesa, GoJet, etc. These are places that have a terrible reputation within the industry. I get what you are trying to say, but there's probably a better way to deliver your message.

All airlines suck. This industry as a whole is a terrible operation. There's nothing more to argue.

Mesa has been around the longest in one form or another, and I think Johnny O came up with the Fee For Departure model. The only thing that is going to sink Mesa is pilots leaving.
One thing that never gets talked about, at a regional, is how management treats you. Right now, and since I've been here, have had a great working relationship. They are not pricks to us, the training department is common sense and not dicks, everyone is nice to the pilot group. The only hostility comes in the form of willingness to negotiate a better compensation and benefits package. Again, I'm not worried, they will do something when they have to, to keep the doors open.

I took a look at the Commutair CPP. It's nice to have in the back pocket, but I can't see people leaving other regionals to go there for it. The additional 40 planes, yes, but not for the CPP.

Pretty much. However things would be a million times worse if we didn't have a great Chief pilot in DFW.
