They will. The latest Standing Bid proves it. 12 more CA for IAH planned to be online early next year so that is probably when the planes are getting delivered. When Mesa is quiet after an announcement of new planes then that means they have nothing new to announce as in a new base. So it's a strong chance they will be IAH. Maybe IAD since it already exists but I doubt it.

90 minute call out - 3+ hour deadhead plus buffer on either end... essentially that airplane is sitting at the gate in IAD for 5 - 7 hours....

DEN would be nice considering how many our people live out west within a decent one leg commute. IAD not so much...no thanks

2) The company never even formally announced that the first 30 EJets were going to Houston. The only official announcement Mesa ever made regarding where the first 30 were going was the first IAH CA standing bid. The company won't announce anything about a new base until there is a vacancy published for it.
I'm pretty confident the first delivery is coming in December and coming to IAH. However, there are 14 more to come after that, and based on all of my sources, I'm strongly leaning towards IAD for ~10 of them.

I thought senior management shot down the IAD rumor at the latest IAH base meeting?

I'm done with the first couple pages of the survey and I had to back out. Is the MEC serious? Everything is a trade off? For example....How important is X...important enough to give up all other improvements, kind of important but not important enough to give up improvements in other areas...or not important...etc etc etc. Hopefully when I go back in to finish this I see there are other pages for non starter issues and the tone is changed. But this defeated tone in the questions indicating we can't make any improvements unless we give up concessions elsewhere is ludicrous. Didn't we just go through this with a resounding no? Believe it or not, it is possible to get improvements in all areas without taking concessions elsewhere!
I feel like these questions, or at least those I have read thus far before I had to rant, are already buttering us up for another subpar contract before we have even hit the table. The way this survey is written will not yield good data with which to negotiate, in my opinion. Also, some of the ranges (contract length for example) are too nebulous. 1-2 years or 3-5 years is a big jump. How about 1/2/3/4 or 5 as possible answers. Realistically a 2-3 year contract is what we need but that data can't be accurately drawn from this. I think the social media/forum/road shows gave great data of where to start and what pilots want. This survey is almost as bad as taking the Hogan.

You sound like a spoiled child. YES, EVERYTHING IS A TRADEOFF! Do you think if Mesa was in amazing financial shape that they would have been in bankruptcy in the first place? Yes the company sold us down the river with mis-management and wasting resources. That doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if we say "it's their problem", because we're the ones that get to deal with it. And if you didn't notice, the fact that the TA even went to a vote means we won't see anything for the amount of time it took to churn out what was even on the table.
Do you think the company cares if we're below industry average? They don't. The only thing they care about is having exactly enough people on staff to complete enough flights not to violate the CPA.....For god's sake stop playing the victim card. Buttering us up for another subpar contract? YOU WORK FOR A SUBPAR COMPANY! If you don't like what's going on, the either do something about it or leave; because crying about the 'tone' of them asking what WE want isn't doing us any good.

Mark this post...Mesa will not be able to staff in 12 months under the current contract (or any similar contract). Attrition is picking up, newhires are dwindling. Mesa WILL have to become more competitive one way or another.
By the way, having the self-respect to demand a near industry standard contract commensurate with flying a jet with 76 pax is not tantamount to being a spoiled child. I hope one day you realize that. The industry will be better off for it.

Wow. Just wow. Don't worry, I am doing something about it, and whether it is in the airline industry or not, I won't be working for this company by the time a new TA comes out.
