The only thing that *might* be achievable via mediation would be the ability to re-evaluate the company's finances at a future date, and to see the margins they're making on the new UAL EJets. Probably not much extra there, but at least we'd know.
Overall, I don't see ALPA achieving anything through the NMB process. The only gains we will ever see in our careers here will occur if new hire classes stop showing up.

Searched but could not find, sorry if it has been asked before; how much is the training contract?
is it prorated?
is it prorated?

I have the numbers at $12,712 if you leave after 0-1 month. Every additional month, it drops by about 1/12th the total amount each month until you owe nothing after a year. I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that CA upgrade comes with another training contract. Or maybe its just if you upgrade to new equipment? idk

Reserve
Hey guys, I'm trying to get this whole reserve deal. Tried reading the contract but it only talks about types of reserve. So you have your reserve schedule for the month. Let's say the first part of that schedule your on 4 days schedule reserve followed by 2 days off and so on. On your 4th day you get assign a 3 or 4 day trip, if this is even possible, what happens to your days off, or matter of fact, what happens to the rest of your schedule?

You only need to sign a new training contract when you upgrade if you are going to a different aircraft. CRJ - EJet. If you are staying on the same equipment, you don't need to sign a new contract.

So, in your example, the worst thing that can reasonably happen is that you get junior manned into a 5th day, not accounting for weather or maintenance issues which might strand you somewhere for longer.
You would lose that day off, and this can happen again and again until you're down to only 9 (I think?) days off in a calendar month (someone correct me if I'm wrong, because the contract isn't in front of me).
You'll get junior man pay for that extra flying, along with normal per diem.

I won't say that what you described is not possible, because anything is possible for crew tracking to attempt lol. It is highly unlikely you'll be assigned anything more than one day of flying that goes into your normal days off.

Pro tip: Bid the first day of your two to three days off as "golden days". This will make them less likely and try to screw you because you can come back and say I have a golden day tomorrow or if you don't mind say you will do it at 200% for flying on your golden day.

From the contract page 13-17 about uncovered flying: In no event will a pilot be required to fly below the number of minimum guaranteed days off (stated elsewhere as 11).
You should download the contract to your phone/iPad. Then you can look stuff up like this when you need it. The more informed you are, the more you can hold the company accountable when they try to do this stuff. Problem gets solved when you mention contact violation on a recorded line more often than not, at least in my limited experience.
