No need for name calling homie, but they should at lease be fighting for some of these issues to be corrected. Or is that not the job of ALPA either?

can anyone update me with a couple of questions?
Whats the QOL in Houston on the Ejet?
What is the expected upgrade time on that aircraft?
How exactly does the training go at Mesa for that aircraft specifically?
How long do you guys feel like it will take to get another TA in that might actually pass?
Anything else that I might need to know would be great?
Also I hear your insurance is really high what would be the cost for myself, wife and kid?
Thanks guys

Fighting for...? To go into discussions with a major airline regarding their handling of their contractors' pass travel website? How is that ALPA's fault?

Upgrade is anyone's best guess. The most junior Captain recently awarded on the E175 was a June 2014 hire. There are nearly 500 pilots junior to him already on property. We need 75 more Captains on the 175 for growth aircraft. Attrition seems to have picked up a couple notches but the floodgates haven't opened yet.
Training for the EJET starts with a week of indoc followed by 3 weeks of systems. There will be about a week of FPT training after that followed by 10 sims and then 40 hours of IOE scheduled. Figure on about 3 months for training.
The company just spent the money they earmarked for the TA to finance the new order of 15 E175 aircraft, so I doubt we will see anything soon.
Lowest insurance rate for family is $460 a month. It goes from there up the scale to around $1600 a month I think for the top plan.

Not sure what you're looking for in terms of quality of life, but my understanding is the schedules are probably the most productive out of all the bases which means a higher credit / days off ratio.

Scotty, ALPA is not in the business of negotiating the $hit CPA's with the mainline carriers.
I will also point out that ALPA dues are not paid to the individual MEC's straight from it's own pilots. We all pay the same percentage to National and they distribute funds to the various MECs based on the budgetary needs of the carrier. Not saying ALPA always does you a solid, but you certainly get a heck of a lot more than you put in. Spread the wealth baby!!!
For those of you talking about going agency shop (not paying dues), please do realize that though you will not be paying dues, you will still receive representation when needed, however, you'll just be counting on others to pay for it. That would be of note when your ALPA membership application is reviewed at another ALPA carrier. At UA that would be an issue.
