Since when do regionals "bid" on domiciles for equipment? Afaik we bid on capacity purchase/fee-for-departure RFPs--then United tells us when and where to go fly the planes (and they can completely change around where we're operating anytime they want--and they often do over time).

The only say Mesa has in the process is where we decide to base pilots to most efficiently staff the schedules United gives us--I'm very confident we didn't "bid" on LAX or IAD or even IAH--we bid on planes, and then we go where they tell us to go, and we may or may not staff whatever they give us from a new base.

If by "bid" you mean "requested" then yeah--Mesa could've asked United to put us on LAX flying or whatever, but we didn't bid on any specific domiciles as part of securing the flying.

Yes. For whatever reason, the EJet has been a junior base since the startup last year.

Not that it matters because I don't come on here to prove what I know that others don't. I'm just trying to give some informed hypothesis of what is currently being discussed above us to fellow flying brothers/sisters. Nuff said.
I've just never heard of a capacity purchase/FFD agreement containing language regarding the basing of aircraft or crews--I've never heard of that being part of the bidding process.

Didn't mean to come off as condescending.

Out of self-preservation, I wouldn't say that out loud within earshot of a few specific, very senior IAD CRJ CAs--just sayin'

Maybe now we'll get some negotiators worth a damn.

Also, didn't know we were buying those new 15 Ejets outright.

I like this new tone a lot better after weeks of listening to them desperately trying to sell a bad deal.
