New Mesa Thread
#1642
No one here appreciates to relive this one, but...
The sole suspect of an ongoing murder investigation, of which the murder victim is a woman whom had a restraining order against him... drunkenly hops the airport barbed wire fence, using a rug and gloves that he brought... gets in the seat, despite being impaired, to go for a ride in the jet. Who knows what he would have done, or killed, if he was able to get it airborne.
No, I dont give him an ounce of pity. I feel sorry for his family and the woman/her family.
Looks like you shouldnt throw stones.
Lets keep the thread back on track guys!

I believe them too. And I don't care. If you can't afford what's on the menu, you don't get to eat.
Bottom line, Mesa management needs to go back to their mainline partners and renegotiate their crappy contracts so to pass increased labor costs on to them. Mainline is making record profits off the backs of Mesa crews and that cannot be allowed to continue.
Proud of my former colleagues!

Do your former Mesa bros a solid and start an organizing campaign!
Exactly, during that conference call I believe someone brought up that question of management going back to mainline to renegotiate the contracts. The response was "mainline will just tell them to go pound sand". Well have they even tried??? If we stay strong on this then mainline will have to do something if they want to keep one of the bigger operations (Mesa) in the game. If Mesa truly doesn't have any more money then I suggest they go back to their mainline pimps and ask for some more at least.
Now to the TA.....you guys were smart to vote it down. It was merely an extension of the current book and not worth it.
Consolidation and shrinking at the same rate as a attrition. In 5 years, or less, 50 seaters will be in the desert or flying cargo in Mexico. 10 years from now those Ejets get absorbed in to mainline and we are forced to start ab initio programs to attract pilots.

Those planes will never go to Skywest.
Skywest doesn't operate planes they don't own.
Make a move mesa. Get a better contract. If it fails to work you can go to any other regional and be paid more.

The best place for those 175's is mainline.
I haven't said it yet, nice job Mesa for voting that POS down. I never read the TA, but I'm sure in Mesa fashion, the language sucked. There can be all the intent and goodwill meant by the MEC, but unless there is language, it's worthless. I experienced it a number of times. Once the last contract was passed and we were working under it, management many times said "but your contract doesn't say we CANT do that". Yup folks, language.

Really!?!?! So if UAL says "Hey Skywest, Mesa's performance numbers are way down which has voided the agreed upon terms of the CPA, here are 30 E175's we'd like you to operate out IAH and IAD", then Skywest's response would be "No thanks, we only fly airplanes we own"? I somehow doubt that. Not to mention the fact the UAL could "sell" those planes to Skywest to make them feel better because they are now flying their own "metal".

It would be nice if we could we could see a breakdown of the yes/no votes by domicile, seniority, etc...
I would be interested to see where the small percentage of yes votes are coming from. Granted this is anecdotal, the few yes voters I met all plan on retiring from Mesa. But then again I'm an FO based in PHX, where at least 90% of the CAs will be here until they age out.

A few years back we took 5 planes from delta and operated them. Skywest cleaned em up got them exactly as we liked them and then delta came in and **** on us and swapped em out for other planes. We lost all that money we put into them. Ever since then Skywest never operates planes they don't own.
Also Skywest won't operate 175s out of Houston or iad. We have limited united on where they can put our planes. We gave them three bases. They chose Denver San Fran and Chicago.
