Never once said we should vote yes. All I said is that if you are a new FO that you would be better off pursuing gains with another airline than waiting around here for a better TA.

No **** Sherlock. You don't need to tell me how impossible it is to strike/get off ice with the NMB. We fought a decade for a good contract with a 99% strike vote at 9e and once we finally got it, Delta simply bankrupted us and renegotiated everything through the bankruptcy courts.
I've already said multiple times that the only way they'll even consider giving us a dime more is if new hires stop showing up or cancelled flights start costing them money. Given that the upgrade train still seems to be rolling (10 more EJet CAs and a handful of CRJ in all bases), I don't see a big exodus coming for at least another year.
I've been on an NC before, but thanks for telling me how negotiations work, bro.

An interesting point was raised but not addressed. Why would United give us more money if we're flying for American and why would American give us more money if we're flying for United? And why would either give us more money if flights are operating reliably?
JO doesn't have much reason to go to our mainline masters until flights are cancelling due to crew staffing. If that happens, American and Delta might rather shift that flying to their wholly-owneds to entice newhires with growth, upgrades, and flows. Maybe United would give us a little more? Or maybe they'd shed the 700's in Dulles as they add their new small narrow-body.
Or maybe JO will offer us a bigger slice of the allegedly small pie. Everyone thought RAH was done for, then they offered $40/hour for newhires. Sure, that TA has issues, but it's going the right direction. Yesterday's bottom feeder is tomorrow's industry leader, etc.
I do feel that's wishful thinking. But JO is too competitive to let Mesa sink, and there will come a point in the next year or two when things will need to change if he wants this to remain a viable company. Upgrades due to growth will end once he realizes he can't bid for flying the way he has been. Hopefully he's realized that now.

I'm just saying that I strongly suspect most of us no-voters (which is to say, most of the pilot group) had zero illusions of NMB-intervention or strikes at all. It was simply a matter of respecting ourselves enough to reject an agreement that doesn't even compensate for inflation, and one which contains worse reserve rules and horribly flaccid language on things that cost the company nothing--like defined parameters for setting flica buffers and a trigger clause for any changes in the company's codeshare agreements/profitability in the 5-year term proposed.

Sorry I don't mean to be offensive I totally agree with you and get what you're saying.

It's ok we keep paying into the magical merger fund so we will be the best positioned regional to get the best merger deal out there. And our MEC is really good at getting us good deals.

If we merge, I'll quit. I've been through a nasty merger (9E)and my seniority area was hosed. Considering my relative seniority here, a merger for me equals never upgrading. And hey.. I just payed into a merger fund that won't do anything yay....
