I know you and spoken with you regarding your move to ShyWest. I support your decision. You've made it pretty clear that it's not all about the upgrade and Mesa isn't the place you'd want to finish your career. Some people just don't get it. This decision is best for you and your family and you'll get a better QOL. I wish you luck and I'm happy for you.

Hey Blackwing, welcome! As a former Mesa guy who was one of the last furloughs back in 2010, I can tell you without a doubt it's an eye opening experience being here after leaving Mesa. The only thing I miss are the people I flew with on the Dash... By far the best crews and the most fun I've ever had flying! Again, welcome and with upgrade down to 3.5 yrs, it's not really much of a sacrifice!

Yea I came to mesa to work for free in the recruiting department. it's all about perspective.... You're complaining about mesa, but have never experienced really being abused by management. Getting junior manned at least 4 times a month.. no cancelation pay... 4 hr sits everywhere on a normal line. Getting called in the chiefs pilot office for one sick call in a year. Be happy your able to upgrade quick and not have to suffer on Fo reserve for years.

Yeah at least 20% of the Mesa pilot group would have been fired long ago at Republic/Pinnacle simply due to sick calls, UOR/UFWs, and/or busted on unscheduled line checks for speaking too critically of the company, management, or this TA in public or within earshot of a CP.
I'm not joking--at all--I don't blame any junior FOs for going somewhere else for the pay, but you have no idea how much different your life will be simply due to the micromanagement and "lawyer mindset" that prevails at many other big, publicly-traded regionals.
Working for Mesa is like being the hired help on a cattle ranch--you get paid a bit less, but as long as you show up sober and don't break anything the days they need you, they leave you the hell alone.

Very well put
A listers destroyed Mesa 13 years ago this month ... September
Find the A list with their names and keep reminding them how they f---d the Regional industry and caused pay cuts and shutdowns around the Regional system .. That Mesa TA was put on the table for all groups during their negotiations sessions ... Don't let history repeat itself
It was not ALPA National , it was the A listers
