So for anyone jump seating this week be sure to show up to the gate at least 30 minutes early because the gate agents do not understand with the new pass travel how to enter jump seaters. I was denied 2 jump seats today on mainline AA because there was a gate agent memo stating that all regional crewmembers are no longer D6 which is not true. If they ask you where your paper ticket is just ask them to see a supervisor. Then get past bureau on the horn. There was another Mesa and Skywest Pilot both having issues at the next gates over.

Just an FYI for those who haven't voted yet:
I just ran the numbers based on current Mesa book and new SkyWest book; For September, I would've made $366 more on 1st yr SkyWest pay than I will on Mesa 2nd year pay for the same line. Differences come from higher pay rate, min day guarantee, and higher perdiem rate.

Add the insurance effect into that. Very eye opening.

I was serious....IIRC like he was a July 2014 hire. If he didn't have his 1000 hours SIC then he should be within a couple hundred hours which should be just 3-4 months away.

If you can live on base with Skywest, and have a family, go to SkyWest. Being stuck on reserve, commuter, and no health insurance for family is not worth the upgrade.
Problem with Mesa, once you upgrade, flying as a CA, you start to really care about the benefits, pay, and QOL.. Once you get there, you are stuck with it!
Easy for a new FO to chase that CA pay, but there is nothing after that to look forward to. Nothing changes with 1000 TPIC...

But hey if you want to feel like life isn't fair and throw a pity party, then make your bed and lie in it as a lifer CA. Nobody is going to stop you.
