I have read the whole contract, and watched the whole roadshow video. It's not a matter of taking what you can get that has so many people upset. It's that we are being put into a position to have to even vote on something that would voluntarily make us the lowest compensated regional compared to our peers. If you factor in our absorbent cost for insurance, and the new work rules it still leaves this work group far short of where our peers are in the industry. Given that, this pilot group is put into a very difficult position of standing up for their profession, or taking small gains to make their personal situations better. I don't fault any pilot for voting either way. For me I would like to be able to walk with my head held high and be proud of the company I work for. If I could vote it would be no.
You can be proud. It's pretty remarkable that Mesa has been able to stay in business, grow, perform well and offer a pay increase to employees, all on a ridiculously shoestring budget.

I don't disagree that it is remarkable that they have survived, but they have done so at the expense of all those employees who have stood by their side through the toughest of times. Continuing to bid contracts that leave the company in a position that it can only compensate its employees at the lowest end of the regional pay scale doesn't seem like good practice in this environment. If we provide as good of a product that the company claims we should be able to secure contracts with higher margins.

Looks like the union is sweating based on this last email. I like how they characterize anyone with a dissenting opinion as posting highly inaccurate information and being uninformed, and blaming social media for this (God forbid it's just a horrible contract). Apparently only those who went to the roadshows and drank the koolaid have the "factual" information. The rest of us are uninformed.
I reread the old contract, I read the new contract, I watched the roadshows presentation, and I cannot fathom how ANYONE could vote yes. It just doesn't make sense. But I guess I'm just an uninformed social media guy.
"In unity" in their signature should be changed to "in unity with management."

I went to the roadshow, drank the kool aid, heard their side of the story, looked at everything from an opened mind, believed them that the company cannot pay us any more than they offered, agreed that this may be the best we can get, and I just voted NO on it.
**** poor language, and allows the company to have more control, no thank you.

Also I used the calculator and it said 1.5% payraise--nowhere near what I need to justify these concessionary work/reserve rules and handouts to the company
I prefer current book rules to this TA, and your piddly 1.5% isn't enough to give up things like seniority-based CML/CMF
Also (assuming you're a union apologist from your "bend over" tone)--the way you guys came out selling this thing like used car salesman really turned a lot of people off. I mean if I somehow found myself having to sell this, I would start off in an apologetic tone--not the patronizing, condescending tone our MEC speaks to the pilots in.
