Mesa

The layover however was a common occurrence on the NOV. bid with at least 1 appearing on every bid. Great places like cle, mem, Sbn etc.... It was just complete inefficient crap. Mesa is not what it was...6-7 yrs ago but it's still the same mgmt. Team, same people in the "crystal palace," same crap being passed down for the union and the pilots to sort out. Maintenance team at mesa is suffering, plus pay and contract protections are still completely inadequate.
Btw the "travelalliance" company doing the hotels.... Holy sh*t do they s*ck!
J/O still knows and still does what he does. No changes.
No sugar coating from me.

Nope DLA77 is right about the 30 hr. layovers. However I've heard it interpreted in two different ways. I think it was just part of the pairing not considered a day off. I did run into a guy who had gotten screwed tho' a reserve i believe?

You guys honestly don't think this kinda **** isn't happening at all the other regionals?
I've had maybe 1 max hotel problem here. I had hotel problems weekly at republic. Like standing at the front desk for an hour as Republic crew scheduling tries to figure out why the hotel isn't getting the fax authorization.
I call bull**** as a long layover being recoded as a day off. Out of domicile that just can't happen.
Maybe the guy got screwed and couldn't commute home cuz he only had 24hrs off between trips because of a long layover in a parring.
That sounds more likely.

Yes still ran by the three headed devil. But our contract does not allow a day off out of base. They can bring you down to 11 days off which is the min, but those must be full days off in base (12pm-12pm)whether they dead head you back or what. But when I was in Hawaii Mesa tried blatant contract violations and told me to "Grieve It". So I wouldn't put anything past them. They are so short after giving the VLOA that I have been JRA'd twice this month already. Know your contract and tell them to suck it, in a very polite way. hehe

I think you meant 12:00am to 12:00am
Years ago, and not sure if it has changed, they could go into your day off as far as 2:00am before they had to give you a new one.
I find the 30 hour overnight considered as a day off worrisome. I really want to disbelieve this story, but I'm having trouble completely disbelieving it. I REALLY hope they aren't turning to these tactics again.
