Two guys failed out of my class after they were given an additional 5-6 sim lessons on top of the standard 8. They just weren't able to get it but the training dept spent a lot of time on those guys trying to get them through.

By posting this though mesa will now get all those guys asking how hard it is? I mean Sh*t man!!!! Is this really what we've come to? A bunch of guys who already come in with checkered pasts and/or guys who want everything handed to them? No wonder the Sims are backed up and hiring slowed...it's to get all those personality "types" another shot at playing "airline"pilot. I'm no "ace" but c'mon that's ridiculous?
BTW. Any extra sim session is bad enough. Most guys/gals complete the course in the standard time frame. *
Yep. There was a point.

This is disturbing, max I had ever heard of was a guy getting 4 xtra sessions before being let go.

If you study, and use every resource available, and *know profiles/callouts* there's no reason why a 1500 hour flight instructor shouldn't get through.
I wouldn't encourage sharing any company material with non-employees. A flight attendant got fired a few months ago because she shared a study guide with a friend who was scheduled for an upcoming class.

I'm sitting on an "offer" from them that has a class date for May. I responded, but have had absolutely no contact from them. Equally as bizarre is that trying to get in touch with someone who actually knows what's going on seems about as easy as getting a one-on-one meeting with the Pope.
Needless to say I didn't wait around for someone to contact me for very long before taking another offer. I don't care if you're the best regional out there or the worst, treating people like that is just a lousy way of doing business. It's a shame too -- I'm sure (or at least I hope) that this kind of treatment is an exception to the rule with how Mesa treats their employees, but they seem to forget that first impressions are everything. They aren't the only game in town.

2 random dudes in the lobby of hotel diplomatico in Rome came up to me and said you want to meet the pope? Well i was having a sh*tty time in Roma so i said "why the hell not!!?" That and Gelatos were it....after that I pretty much "stay blessed" even tho i didnt cough up the extra 40. lucky me.
All i'm saying is "it's doable."
