If you are talking about EJET staffing, there are 100 active CA and 72 active FO per the 1505 roster. If they are being held back it is because we are short on EJET FOs. We still have Jan class EJET FOs in TRN status. Feb was a small class and are currently in sim. The March class is starting sim next week. There was a bit of a training bottleneck, so I wouldn't be surprised if that is what triggered holdbacks, if true.

Yeah, I'm not sure I completely understand the holdback pay language in the contract. Sounds like the latest it should start is 120 days after the initial class date. Not sure what the 1-for-1 bit means. It used to be that hold backs would only start getting holdback protection when someone junior to them started class.
They may be using Captains to fly right seat to fill in for the shortage of FOs and then running out of Captains? I don't know. I do know they have been running Captains through AQP before most of the FOs since they would otherwise need a 6 month PC/PT. That will have to change starting in May because the FOs will start to be due for a PC/PT. That will pull FOs offline for 3-4 days at a time, creating even more of a crunch.

Just curious.....does Mesa have a Fatigue Review Committee (FRC)? We file an FSAP (our form of ASAP) for a fatigue call so that it can be reviewed by a 3 person committee (1 ALPA, 1 Company, and 1 FAA) to determine the cause of the fatigue. The FRC will review the FSAP and look at the chain of events leading up to the fatigue call to determine whether it was Operational, Non-Operational, or Self-Induced. That determination would affect how the pilot is paid (sick bank, or not), or if the pilot gets paid at all (Self-Induced).

Are they going to be running classes for CRJ training into this summer?? Or are things slowing down a bit?

I think they will be hiring for the foreseeable future. Don't expect that last announcement of flying to be the last to be announced. May not be 50 a month but we will keep having classes I think for a while.

Has anyone noticed that nearly all high credit 1 day trips are gone from IAD? Those were the 6+ hour turns to Texas. I guess I need to re-adjust my bid ... bummer!
