If what you guys are talking about were to really happen, if the merged airline is ALPA then there wouldn't be a staple but some kind of SLI. right?
I sure ****ed and moaned when they FORCED me to pay into that merger fund. Should I be glad we have it now? What exactly will it do for Mesa pilots?

As a bankrupt unlisted company, it would be hard for Mesa to get 750 mil unsecured--which makes it more likely for buying planes...
Because if it's a secured loan then the bank can repo the plane. Much less risk involved for the bank.
Way easier to get a loan that size for asset purchase.

If by "at 330" you meant at 3:30 a.m., I am impressed. Physically, I'm pretty useless from midnight til 10ish. I'm not sure how I made it through basic.

Yes, that is what I meant, 3:30AM. Then off to the food bank at 5:30AM, then church, road side volunteer trash pickup and finally, time with kids without fathers program. It's called brothers reaching out or "BRO's".

Will new hires go into the E-175, or CRJ then bid over. If there are new hires going to the -175, when will be the first class? Some time in March/April I'd suppose

That's the tricky thing for you guys and gals that would like to either fly the EMB or want the IAH base. We have a ORD base in the CRJ. According to the contract you cannot bid over to another aircraft unless you upgrade or there is a base closure displacement. So you will be fenced on the CRJ. But I would get in as fast as possible and get the seniority. Training cost a lot of money and I'm sure Mesa will try to uphold the contract, unless their is a visible shortage of new hires.

EJet ground and sim training will all be done in St Louis. Bases are IAH and ORD evenly with a possibility of a few planes at an East or West coast base.
750 mil loan.....Wonder how JO was able to secure all that extra USAir flying. (I scratch your back, and you scratch my back. I buy your POS subsidies, and you give me extra flying?) Just a thought.
And why would anyone mention their bench press on an airline forum? Everyone knows squats are way more impressive.
