Now that I am just about finished, I will say this... I wouldn't want to do it any faster, and I am glad I got to experience winter during my IOE, and other things that most people on IOE are never lucky enough to experience.
Be careful what you wish for, and study the crap out of that GOM and CFM. This job on the left seat is NOT your right seat job and working the tiller.

I hear you and know where you're coming from. I'm a Military guy with pilot in command experience and will take any piece of advice that is given. Again, thank you.

Good lord. FaceBiter where are you at. JO can't tell you a year and a half out what upgrade times will be in a year and a half. He can only tell you what they were a year and change ago when those people got hired who just upgraded. This industry will look a lot different a year or two from now. You might be a captain, you might not. Banking on the crap JO spews is like banking on some rumor you read on a forum or heard in a crew room.
JO has nothing to offer except fast upgrades. That's why he keeps the recruiters and everyone else toeing the party line of fast upgrades that may or may not happen. Of course he will keep saying that. If he said oh I don't know could be 1 year could be 5 years, he knows that will be all over the forum and no one would come here. But the reality is there is no guarantee anywhere of a 1-2 year upgrade, especially here if we don't get more flying.

With this mindset, why would you accept employment with one of the lowest paying airlines. If you're gonna be stuck in the right seat for five years, wouldn't you strive for something with better pay and work rules?

I was told if I don't get awarded PHX within 3 months to file a grievance with the union. Can someone walk me through this process?
