Looks like the EMB 175 training will be in St. Louis, I heard that we will receive two aircraft every other month. SkyWest gets two, then us in a rotation. I believe the ground school for the EMB will start in March. I'm not sure how many airplanes will be on property for our June 1st inaugural revenue flight. Other than the bases we have now, IAH is the strong rumor, I have also heard that ORD will have a few airplanes as well, but the bulk in IAH. Not sure if the company is going to allow current FO'S on property bid over to the E-jet. Our contract sais that you must upgrade to cross fences into other aircraft unless your displaced.

It's also very tricky on initial training class date, it all depends on how many aircraft we start with June 1st. Two airplanes would only net 10 FO's plus reserves, maybe 5 more. Mesa runs very tight staffing, I just hope they don't short themselves again like they did with the new Airways 900's. I believe they weren't ready for the longer IOE's and it kind of put them into a staffing bind.

Golf clap for skillet, as I believe this is the first time he's posted sober with accurate and non bashing information.

Are there breaks during training? Or are you living in the hotel for two months straight? I was considering driving in lieu of flying out so I'm not stranded at the hotel.

Let me re-phrase, the ground school will be held in Phoenix at the training center. You should have the weekends off and can expect about a month of ground school. The EMB SIM only will be in St. Louis I heard, and the schedule is all over the place. (The CRJ is in PHX) You might not have one break until your check ride. Depending on how far you have to drive from, it is nice having a car. I think they still keep us at the hotel south of the airport, can't remember the name off the top of my head. Not much right around the hotel for sure, if it's still the same hotel. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

If your training has holidays during it you will have breaks. As far as I know you'll have all weekends off. Except when you have sim and thats if you have sim scheduled on the weekends.
I would highly recommend taking a vehicle if its feasible. There is a lot to do in Phoenix and the guys without vehicles either, a. stayed at the hotel during pretty much any non classroom time or b. we're always asking the people with a car for a ride places.

We stay at the Sleep Inn while in PHX. If you are able to have a car while you're there, I'd reccommend it. There isn't much around. The CRJ sim in PHX is backed up due to all the hiring and upgrades. Some crews are being sent to Toronto for sim training. In my case, I have had some breaks in training. It all depends on sim availability and stuff like that.

for pilots hired that complete training and IOE, what is the range of time from submittal of a complete application and all required information to DOH.....then from DOH to line flying?
