Does anyone have any insight on the future flying out of phx? Trying to decide if staying and settling down in DFW would be smarter then phx as I am junior. I know that 80% of our AA flying is going to be out of DFW so does that mean phx is shrinking substantially?

Okay you do know there is a difference between the number of class offers given and accepted and the people that actually show up right? A "friend" of yours that's been here 2 days doesn't have a clue. One of the directors of training came in class on Monday and said that by the end of the week we would have 33 people below us.

Agreed on most points, VanDriver. However, I think we could reasonably staff at least a good chunk of them. As for fuel prices, after some thought there's one key difference; we wouldn't own them so they wouldn't be a liability for the company. Once they're no longer financially feasible to operate, we shed them having lost nothing. And thinking a little further, we'd have our foot in the door with Delta again
They've single-handedly destroyed the lives & careers of thousands (if not tens of thousands) of regional pilots by engaging in highly unethical business practices, fradulent under-the-table bankruptcies, and sham lawsuits designed to run contractors into bankruptcy.
Even if they own the planes, even if they pay for the fuel, even if they sign whatever you want them to sign...believe me, Delta will find a way to screw over whichever regional is dumb enough to take this flying.
Believe me--it's best for all of our careers if we don't do business with them, even when factoring in the short-term boost of a few extra CRJ Captain slots.
