Yeah that shouldn't be. Maybe it's due to the quality they're hiring?(not flaming)
the AQP program isn't going away correct?

With an initial type ride no retry on a maneuver as it has been before.

Recurrent will still be AQP.

Initial is no longer AQP?

It's still AQP. If prior121's info is legit, they'll just update the training standards to not allow re-tries/TTPs (train to proficiency) on the initial type ride.

I.e. if you're +100 feet off on your altitude on your steep turns, or go below an altitude, or can't maintain +/-5 degrees during your initial checkride, it's a bust--no do-overs. Personally, on your first checkride, that's probably how it should be.

Pretty sure the FAA has a say on what standards/tolerances an AQP program allows. If they want no do-overs on initial checkrides, Mesa will comply, regardless of whether it's an AQP or traditional training program.

What are common things people bust during initial 121 types? Altitude/heading deviations? What else?

Ask. Other people can benefit from the questions and answers. That's what this forum is for, despite popular belief that it is for bashing new hires, complaining, etc.

So, just to clarify one could bust a maneuver in initial. But could still be retrained afterwards and allowed another ride? Or would you get fired..
