So did the company really plan for a Boston market catered thanksgiving dinner for those in IAH, and when everyone showed up the Company CC was declined?

Cool story brah...
Newsflash: all the regionals suck, JO isn't the only CEO who wishes he could replace FOs with monkeys.
We are contract employees to the majors and the cheapest bidder gets the flying. Hmm I bet a monkey would be cheaper than me. I think YOU and a lot of people forget that.
Look what happened to Comair, look what's happening to Eagle. I commend them for standing up for the industry but we aren't mainline pilots and we don't have the leverage (mainline) pilots have. If we get too expensive we're gone. Period.
Heck I wish we could put vending machines in the back and that FA pay could be tacked onto my pay. Just sayin'
Enjoy your failing 125 operation.

Without regionals dealing with what really matters (pay) all the regionals will die in a matter of time simply because they will have no pilots to fly them. Without all of the regional pilots saying enough is enough it will never get better.
I personally have six friends that have all bailed in the last year and left the aviation industry all together. They were all between 4 & 7 year FO's, and not one regrets the decision.

What'd they end up doing? Have them post their stories in the Leaving the Career forum.

I think this is the stupidest post I've ever read. If regionals get too expensive as you put it the flying will have to go back to mainline. The massive regional shift happening right now is only hurting the regionals. No college student in his right mind would sign up for what is happening now.
So this is "The most stupid post you've ever read."
Secondly, your trying to tell me it would be cheaper for mainline to take flying back?
A mainline crew has less labor costs than a regional crew for the same aircraft? Righhhht.
I personally know of three college students who are in ground school here right now fresh out of Purdue.
I know of another two who are freshman in an aviation program.
Carry on.

"Awww it was so hard when I went through and it took me forever to upgrade because the industry is unfair. Wahhh." Go to a real airline if you are so **** good you made it thru when it was so tough. Oh that's right, you're stuck and grumpy that life's so unfair. I'm at Mesa for a reason, which I clearly explained. Not at psa or cpz or any other regional. And I'm still coming to work every day on time and enjoy the *** out of flying. The recruiters make no bones about it...they (mgmt) want us in and out to keep costs down. Quit getting butthurt because I call it like it is and am using this company to attain my goal, no different than they are using us for slave wage labor for their goal...to grow and maximize profits. I am here voluntarily knowing it is temporary. Why are you still here? Can't afford first year pay at a major? Right. Next. Oh by the way, I still tell my friends applying to regionals to come to Mesa for the reasons mentioned in a previous post. I just ensure they make the decision with eyes wide open.
I'm not sure how the recruiters convinced you your stay here is going to be "temporary" but you're on the very, very tail end of the hiring wave, and with no new flying announced and extremely low attrition compared to other regionals, you might want to reconsider your glorious zero-to-hero 5 year plan.
I wish I knew who you were so I could call my friends & former co-workers at legacies/FDX/Emirates/etc. to make sure your horrible attitude never makes its way into one of their cockpits (I'm sure it won't anyways, given the 'tude you're expressing here at your first 121 job).

LOL you're going to be a joy to fly with when you eventually realize the fast upgrade at Mesa isn't going to happen for you and your class anytime soon.

Wow...you guys think IAD blows now??? I remember the A gates, the dungeon. The "old" crew room by the corner Ethiopia and Pakistan. They were still constructing the B concourse. People movers everywhere, no train. Air Wisconsin ground ground handling with a ground handler nearly walking into a colgan prop every day. I remember when the Trans States pilot and the mechanic got in a fist fight at the A gates.
Actually even before that, during the ACA/Independence Air stuff when we had I think the remote "F" gates. Now THAT SUCKED!!!! Those remote gates were like a greyhound bus station in North Central Philly. Oh and back then, no KCM either so you if you timed it just right you'd be able to get behind the 19 person Saudia Crew going through the only employee lane.
Dulles isn't even that expensive, unless you're living as if you are on "single airline captain" wages and staying at hotels while on reserve. Dulles crew rates are high, ground transportation is a nightmare with the Flyer. But overall it is doable and guys b*tchin have no idea what Dulles was. Besides dulles lately has to be extremely temporary for most. Suck it up and bid out.
