You can't view it now that PBS is closed, but once PBS re-opens next month (for Dec. bidding) you'll be able to go to the "Results" tab for 11-14. It will show you exactly how the system processed your bid groups.

Just e-mail magpbs like prior said, and ask what you did wrong.

Did you waive everything (min consec days off 2; no same-day pairings)???

Did you have a reserve bid group as a fallback with your desired days off, below your line (pairing) bid groups???

Also--people below you might have simply gotten regular lines b/c their carry-in hours/trips/reserve days from Oct., or their scheduled availability, was different than yours, and able to accomodate a line.

For example--if the guy below you had the last 4 days of Oct. off, and you were on reserve the last 4 days of Oct., PBS might have been able to squeeze a fat trip on the guy below you the first few days of Nov.--but couldn't do the same with you without exceeding the rolling FDP buffers/30 hours rest req./etc.. Of course, it might be a simple case of your bid not being setup right relative to the person below you, but what you're doing the last 7 days of the preceeding month can compromise PBS's ability to hit the target credit value without creating an illegality.

As a rule of thumb, if you don't know exactly how PBS is going to process your bids, you should ask around the crewroom, read the heck out of all the PBS documents, and email magpbs and ask. Plenty of us are willing to help, and a lot of it won't make sense unless you're sitting there going over your bid with someone.

A related question: who should we talk to if it starts looking like we're going to have an issue getting consolidated in time?

I would call crew tracking and if it's not them they'll likely point you in the right direction. I haven't heard of anyone else having a issue but a lot of new guys they could have forgotten you.

FO's probably 45 dfw / 45 iad, the key here is no 700/900 pay diff. There will be far fewer FO's to shuffle due to upgrades and people that already transferred to keep a line. Wouldn't be surprised if FO displacements are deferred for several months due to upgrades / quits / and the out of balance FO / CA #.

CA's probably 70 dfw / 45 iAd, 700/900 pay diff will force some to dfw to prevent pay cut.

Go to PSA if Mesa<1-2 years and want/ need east coast/clt operation. Cut losses, much better contract/ health insurance is no comparison. Mesa /JO always finds a way to screw opportunity up, it won't be long now.

1+ year Mesa FOs are very close to upgrade, while a December and beyond PSA class date puts you well behind the quick upgrade curve. Less than a year or still considering where to go? Then yes, PSA might be a good choice.

JO has to know eventually he will have to put a better contract on the table. The question is when will he actually do it. Hopefully before classes stop filling.

Thanks for the info flaps, it's helpful and informative and I do appreciate it. It might've been waiving that did this - my understanding initially was that everything is waived unless you say otherwise as that would be intuitive. That the only preferences or constraints are the ones you enter. So I didn't have anything waived. It was simply "Give me a line with 6 days off," and if you can't do that "Give me a line with 5 days off," then 4 days, then 3. Barring that, "Give me reserve with 6 days off," "give me reserve with 5 days off," etc. I thought that would work since it didn't have many parameters and allowed the next option down if not the first.

I hope guys are doing some research on IAD trips vs DFW. Granted we won't know all DFW destinations for a while. Trips are quite a bit more efficient in IAD. UAL flying has always been better in comparison. Better efficiency = more days off. Also as of now, there are quite a few trips on the 76 seat 900's out of DFW so there is no pay benefit there (flying thru PHX or LAX). Can't say what the future holds for aircraft placement.
