I wish we still had Hawaii bases. Half these guys would quit if they had to go that far away from their moms--even for only two or three weeks!

whats the skinny on mesa nowadays..
cancellation pay?
assignments to aircraft and where?
vacation?
any signup bonus?

hard to figure out if this place is ok or not with so many people trash talking it but at the same time someone is working there so who are they?

looking for opinions to simply find out if i should apply or not.

thanks all

I don't think anyone who ACTUALLY works here right now is talking crap about this place.

Lots of upgrades happening. (Most junior CRJ CA is a 2013 hire) Tons of hiring to finish staffing the 10 more CRJ900s that came online this summer and fall. Hiring for E175s that continue to arrive into 2016. E175 CA upgrades should touch 2013 hires next award (December upgrade classes)

This is not the Mesa of 2010 or 2008 for that matter.

Great training department, good CPs who are here to help.

CNX pay... block or better...

DFW- CRJ9 AA
PHX- CRJ9 AA
IAD- CRJ7 UA
IAH- E175 UA

IPAD EFB. (big deal if you're coming from an airline with paper charts, makes life much easier)

Longest contract extensions with mainline partners of all the regionals. 2019 for UA and 2021 for AA. (May have those reversed) No 50 seaters left, they were all shed during bankruptcy. Fleet of on demand 70-79 seat aircraft.

Lots of guys out there who were furloughed or quit Mesa 07-11 out there. From what I've heard this place SUCKED back then. They're the ones still spewing the hate.

I don't blame them, I'll probably be spewing hate about RAH well into the 2030's.......

I've seen you mention even more flying Prior121. What have you heard? More 175s? More CRJs?

Yeah before I came on I looked at these boards for guys actually here crap taking the company. (I like to hear all the bad.) but for the most part guys here are content. My biggest problem with Mesa is that they don't try to make life easier for you. But to Mesa's credit they don't hassle you either like I've heard RAH and GoJet do.

Just out of curiosity, what do you mean by "make life easier for you?"

I'm in the top 10 at IAD, get all the trips I want, can drop my entire month if I don't feel like working. (Always tons of IAD FO RSVs)

Can you elaborate?

Ha, I'm around. Just not *****ing and moaning as much. A nice paycheck and a 85 hour line with 18 days off will change your tune.

PHX and CLT lines crossed over west and east. When I was on the CRJ I would bid these trips to break up the monotany of flying too the same cities. I would expect DFW to have more hub through trips being centrally located.

While I was in Chicago I wasn't able to swap anything even to take more hours. Because I was switching days. And they had the same coverage on both days. I didn't really care for it.

I do have way more flexibility in IAD.
