I agree, what about this contract?
The first year FO pay is what had me thinking about not coming to fly the Ejet and staying where I am. Now I hear that the new contract has something like a 15% increase that would put it at around $25, no ?

Not to say that captains should still be getting "base rate"/200 pay.

$22.16 in 2008 dollars is around $24.50 today. I'm amazed the old contract didn't account for this.

My seniority jumped quite a bit recently, and I don't think it's captains who are leaving.
I had heard the opposite, that the company looked at the union's proposal and turned it down cold with no counter offer.

New contract = more costly = less flying = less chance of any FOs making CA and earning a living wage

I'm sorry to anyone who thinks we're going to somehow "raise the bar" at regionals by pricing ourselves out of business, but this is a fundamental truth of the regional airline business that will never change unless:

1) We somehow have a national seniority list (never gonna happen)

or

2) We extricate airlines from the railway labor act (prob never gonna happen)

Anyone who doesn't understand the above is in for the same sore awakening we got at Pinnacle/Endeavor when we got our fancy new contract. I assume the same would be true for Comair, and very soon Eagle, unfortunately.

Wow... so sad!

At least you're a wet dream for JO and other management!

He's right. I was just thinking more along the lines of attracting pilots. I know three who are leaving from my class. I might jump ship as well. At this point I'd rather be an FO somewhere else than a captain at Mesa. I guess they're still coming in the door though.

I saw that too that the seniority went up real quick....like almost 20 numbers. Very unusual. I was wondering if they cleaned up the seniority list a little (LOA for years for some, are they really coming back?) or did some Chicago pilots quit?
