Currently flying CL-65 (pic) in Europe 5 year contract expires soon. Wanted to see if a street CA slot would become available soon

Kind of thought it may be long ways away, but thought it was worth looking into.

Thanks

Not true. Training dept is talking about CL65 street captains by late spring.

Well, actually the numbers speak for themselves. Most new hires are not prior 121 and need their 1000 SIC.

Of 284 new hires since the most junior CA, crew quals has told me that only about 60-70 are prior 121. Take into account that 1 out 5 are bypassing for the EJET or holding out for a certain domicile. If everything stays status quo, the training department is expecting street CA in the spring.

Well, that's what I heard through a distant friend of mine. We both worked at XJT 7 years ago and he was telling me something similar to that.
I only recently started looking for job opening in the states again, since I been flying in Europe for almost 5 years, I kind of been out of the circle.
I did have an unsuccessful interview at United a few months ago.
Apparently they dislike Dual citizenship and foreign military (flying) experiance.

Yeah, bummer for us post-May 15 guys. But with Dallas opening up and more CLT guys probably moving to IAD, I'm holding out hope for Phoenix in November.

On that note, I guess it's time to ask if anyone can refer me to the best crew rate hotel by Dulles.

Crowne Plaza is around $67 a night and there's a bunch of stuff to eat around there within walking distance. It's pretty nice too - they pick you up in a big Mercedes van and the lobby plays classical music.

The number is: 704-393-5306

Comfort Inn on Elden Street in Hendon. $55 crew rate, several restaurants and supermarket in walking distance and free van to others and airport. I think it used to be your layover hotel.

I should be upgrading around the time I hit 1000 turbine time. July 2013 hire. True many people are holding out for the EJet. I am not one of them. If my commute to DFW is horrible, I am leaving this industry to become a software developer. Huge bubble in the stock market, going to burst sooner or later. Our captains are not getting hired, doubt we will need street captains. Union will have a field day with that.
