Are you kidding? That video is the most propagandist thing I've ever witnessed. This whole discourse is idiotic. It's an economic problem that solves itself. Regional airlines haven't raised wages yet because they don't have to. First, they'll try some other things: cancel flights, offer bonuses, get FAR 117 changed, etc., then, if they have to, maybe wages will be raised to attract pilots. Or maybe the cost of doing so is too high and the whole system will change. Who knows? Under the system our union has in place, raising wages isn't a simple matter. A small airline I used to work for is having trouble attracting pilots so, recently, they gave everyone a $7,000 salary bump. Problem solved. Not so easy when you're working with union contracts.
Imagine walking into a store and choosing not to buy an item because the price was too high, then being accused of wrongdoing by the store owner for not purchasing the product. That's essentially what ALPA is doing.

The hilarity of it is that it's an ALPA created problem.

So the koolaid seems to be getting served a little more by the higher ups at Mesa. An email last week about newhires and upgrades and now they've even started "congratulating" these same new hires and upgrades on the website. They even make it a point to note that one of the last upgrades was hired by the company in 2013.
What gives? Just hoping this means management is scared they won't be able to find the pilots, especially with the whole PSA/Envoy changes recently. Thoughts?

I'm starting in August. I'll be commuting out of Seattle for Houston after ground school, once I'm on line. I've never had to commute at my current airline so this will be new. How does it work in terms of paying for airport parking while you're on your trip? Or say taking a train to the airport rather than leaving a car there for 4 days? Do you get reimbursed for these expenses?

I have a friend who recently declined a class date from PSA because he heard that the training department was overly brutal on their new hires. Does that mean that PSAs training is completely unfair? Probably not, as it's just one sample. You can't just determine facts from someone's opinions.
All anyone can do for the time being is speculate.

Mesa makes us pay for Known Crewmember, makes us pay for our own iPads for work use; there's not a chance they'll reimburse you for parking at your home airport.
