Once again misuse of the word scab.

Right, because we're not willing to sewer our airline with a joke like ALPA who has done SFA for everyone else. Yet somehow we are still leading the regional industry in pay and working conditions.

Lol, okay.

Funny, I'm sure the pay and working conditions has nothing to do with what was negotiated in the past by those ALPA represented carriers. It always amazes me that whenever a regional negotiates improvements that Skywest issuddenly given comparable improvements. So go ahead and slam ALPA, or any other union, but do so knowing that you are flying on their coat-tails. And again, are the Skywest pilots actively engaged with what is going on with foreign ownership? Because those "sewer dwelling" ALPA pilots, MAG pilots in particular, seem to care and are actively doing something about it on Capital Hill.

So I realize this is probably a long shot, but I recently heard a rumor that Mesa might be hiring street captains? Is there ANY reason to believe this might have even a remote chance of being true?

:rolls eyes: simply because that seems to be the cool thing to do on this thread.

There are factors that could change this, but it is projected that they will exhaust all qualified FO's wanting to upgrade by March.

Anyone hired now with previous 121 (8-900+ hours) will see an upgrade by then.

Most junior captain was hired in April 2013. There are 300+ pilots junior to him on the seniority list. Some of those pilots are already qualified to hold CA, some are not. How many is anyone's guess but the company would know as they track that stuff. So no, Mesa is not hiring street captains, but who knows if it will happen and when.

I met Mr. April 2013 tonight, and there are also quite a few people senior to him who are holding out for the 175 or other domiciles. And some who either didn't bid for CA or aren't yet qualified. Also, the guy right above him senioritywise is a furlough recall.

J.O.'s wife and daughter enjoy sitting on the beach in Mexico sippin' Mai Tais while you chase your carrot. Don't worry, they'll send you a post card about it in December to cheer you up.
