Mesa can't do concessions. How can the pay get any worse? Especially for FO pay. Captains have it pretty good, not great. But FO pay sucks. We have 8 year FO's making the same top of the pay scale for the last three years, just like Republic. It's bull. McDonald's workers will make more soon. And they should make more, and hell yes, a person operating a 79 seat jet aircraft should be paid for the job he does.

My life is awesome. Thanks for asking!
Are you looking for sunshine and rainbows only? I'm not attacking you but thought we could have an intelligent conversation about hiring practices of airlines. I suppose that's too much to ask for from you guys. I'm sharing the reasons why I didn't choose Mesa for those people who are reading in the shadows and asking if anyone knows of people NOT getting hired at Mesa. If you don't think selectivity is beneficial to a company, then I suppose you'd be okay with someone with 5 or more check ride failures in the last 3 years, or multiple 121 busts.
I agree with a second chance. If you get a DUI in AZ after 3 beers, then I think you should get a second chance. If you get caught
for a second time, from a medical standpoint, it shows possible substance abuse (hence why he lost his medical) and from an aviation standpoint, an inability to make good decisions.
These are facts. This is not me trying to smear your pilot group. If you want to create a message board so you can pat yourselves on the back and only talk about how awesome your company is, then make your own message board. Until then, I will continue to share my 2 cents when I see fit.

Airlines are concerned about filling seats, end of story. They will do and take whatever is needed to fill those seats.

From website Mesa Airline Pilot Jobs, Mesa Air Jobs & Pilot Positions.
Current first year First Officer pay is $22.18 per flight hour...paid on the basis of scheduled block time or actual block times whichever is greater.

Why anyone would go to the epitome of subpar regionals is beyond me. Their pay for 76 seaters is the worst than pretty much any other operator. J.O. is the host cancer to this industry and what its become. All he cares about is being rich at the expense of the line workers. He may get more flying, and it will be a mess again, and screw it up, lose planes, furlough, then file BK as they did 2x's before and start over again. Its a scam operation and he keeps doing it over again. Look at MAG history, they got booted out of EVERY contract they ever did. Delta and UAL just a few years ago as most recent with each suing MAG. What is to say much has changed now? This movie has been played before. Be careful, I know people that went there being hasty on their growth, and got furloughed. They can't manage an operation out of a small jar, FYI.

Mesa doesn't have the worst 76 seat pay (define the worst)
They have only filed BK once to my knowledge. I was there from 1999-2011.
Mesa has not been booted out of EVERY contract. They lost the DL flying the first time due to "poor performance" (out of JFK) The second time was due to them filing BK. Mesa has not been the only one DL has kicked to the curb.
They lost the UAL flying once but got it back.
They have gained flying with Airways.
Every airline that I know of that has filed BK has furloughed. Ask the Airways guys how many times they have been furloughed.

I jumpseated the other day on Mesa and the FO was still doing IOE. We got to chatting and I asked him the standard line "so what did you do before this?" Apparently, he was flight instructing but had his medical pulled about a year ago due to a 2nd DUI. His medical was returned a few months ago and shortly there after he had a Mesa phone interview.... That should answer your question.,,,
Anyways, taking this personal info he told you in confidence and blasting it on a public forum.... You stay classy Slats!

Did I mention flight #, did I mention city pairs, did I mention his base? Give it a rest.... Anything you can find on an FAA website or public records isn't private...
