JO spoke to the classes in training on Tuesday (2 FA classes, two CRJ FO classes and one 175 FO class), he thinks our classes are right on the cusp. I tend to think we're just shy of it. Other people have opined that all upgrades required for airplanes that have been announced are already on property; I'm inclined to agree. My class' upgrades will probably come with the next batch of new flying announced.

I hear you prior121, but would you take an ~80K per year pay cut for a regional job so that you could get 121 time in the hopes of landing a job at a major 3 (best case) to 5 years (worst case) down the road and then spend another 2-3 years (depending on the major) working your way back up to where you WERE 5 (best case) to 8 (worst case) years ago?

121 is fine. 91 is also very good, but it can be volatile (depending on the company) -- that's the bad part. Right now I have to pay the bills, so if my 91 jet PIC doesn't impress a major, oh well -- I'll go instruct at FSI or CAE at 80-100K a year until I get the next 91 gig, if the majors poo-poo my existence.

I can't live and die by the airlines. I like what someone said to me a while back -- the only time you know you've made all the right decisions in aviation is when you retire!

And no, I'm not new, I've been here since hiring started last year, RAH /E175 refugee.

There is attrition here also that will help with upgrading sooner. I started last November and am up 40ish numbers. I expect attrition to increase with the majors hiring more.
