I'm uninterested in on time performance as far as Mesa goes as a whole. Go! lacks and Us Air Express side has not done well lately due to implementing new aircraft with no ACARS.
I'm specifically looking at the United Express feed and which regional carrier is consistently the #1 performer. The answer is Mesa. I guarantee management at UAL pays some serious attention to that when awarding new flying.
These aircraft cannot be awarded to OO because OO is not an ALPA airline. I completely forgot about that. These 30 can only be awarded to an ALPA airline.
I'd rather not go back and forth on this subject any longer. We are both only line pilots and it's shaking a crystal ball debating new flying or loss of flying to either Skywest of Mesa.

If one was going to make a lateral move to another regional why would you go to Mesa? That's no better than RAH... Also verrryyyy doubtful but don't forget about CP, ALPA ( Don't think that matters for these) and consistently #1 or sometimes #2 in DCI... O and already operates the 175.

I hate to see this tread turn into a Skywest is better than Mesa Thread. I think we all acknowledge you guys have one bad ass, b-i-t-c-h-i-n, top of the line regional airline, and all the majors like the product.
That said, some of us occupy seniority numbers at Mesa, and as such we care about our future, as do you at Skywest and all our colleagues at their respective regional airlines.
What point does it serve to try and one-up the other by comparing assets and liabilities. We all suck dude! And the people who pay us - what little they pay us - to carry the responsibilities we carry, count on this mentality, which is pervasive, to keep us divided and play us one against the other.

I take it you've flown at both airlines to make the judgement call that one is no better than the other? I believe I'm here with a unique perspective.
Compass could very well be awarded the flying , however, I too see that very doubtful.

Clarification. I don't mean we all suck. Not at all, we are all professionals.
I mean we're all suckin hind teet.

I just got my class offer (September) and I am very happy about joining Mesa.
I do have I few questions.
Where is the 900 sim training done?
Any suggestions on study material prior to class?

I wouldn't worry to much about studying prior to class, they give you all the info needed to pass the course.
Good Luck

He seemed to be pretty happy with the training department--I think he said they're trying to do IOE in the base you're going to, but it's mostly PHX & CLT for IOE.
Personally, if I was at his stage again (i.e. a new guy), I'd rather roll the dice at a small operation with a shot at a better contract and a significant relative increase in flying, versus going to a bloated/overbooked/very large pilot group like Republic.
Just my two cents--whether you want to live in Mesa's junior bases (or a short/easy commute away) is also a key factor. ymmv
