No they will not be able to staff these aircraft. Of the 47 who said they would be there for training, half have been showing up. (ALPA Website). Mesa is reaching even further, they are trying to contact Mesa Air Pilot Development students who were let go when it closed over 3 years ago. Just hoping they are now close to 1500hrs somehow and still wanting to fly for Mesa. Mesa also offering 300 percent pay to pick trips up on days off or out of footprint schedule. We are short staffed right now and it is showing. Popcorn in the microwave, it's going to get interesting. 10 year upgrade (captains going nowhere), 7 years FO to hold PHX reserve. Contract getting walked all over, what goes around comes around.

We have had 50 MAPD graduates in our hiring pool for 3 years. *** ******* spent this week in PHX contacting these individuals to determine who is still in the flying biz, has the 1500 hours, and would be interested in joining our April 1 long term class. The April 1 class will effectively have all of the remaining furlough recall pilots who are returning back in the school house. A lot of good stuff going on.
All furloughs recalled. Doesn't sound like they got very many. Some will leave once current as well. I will try to get some numbers but I think that a class of 4 and 14 are on property now.

This isn't meant to be flamebait but rumor in Hawaii is that Go! may not be down here much longer. Don't know how many new hires they will need if that's the case.
Again, just a rumor. Can anyone confirm?

If you have been Hawaii anytime in the last 7(?) years I think you have heard the rumor that go! is gone very soon. I have no inside info and I have been wrong many times before but I dont think go! is going anywhere. Reason 1)this airline is JO's baby I can't see him letting (E)go! airlines die. 2)go! has contracts with at least 2(?) tour companies that fill 40-50 seats on a few flights a day, I'm sure they are paying a discount rate but I doubt Mesa would take a loss to do those flights. Those two things don't add up to go! sticking around but I'm hearing that an upgraded fleet is heading for Hawaii sometime in the near future. That being said by the time I hit "submit reply" go! could be shut down

I heard our JAL contract will not be renewed in Hawaii. Also rumors have been around for 6 years about shutting down Hawaii. But from a source of mine, Mr. "I will stay in Hawaii and love Mesa" said that he talked to management in Phoenix two weeks ago and was told that Hawaii might be coming to a close. This guy never brings up anything negative about the company or bad news so it kind of came as a shock when he said it.
