Fortunately then, its not for one chairman to decide. Its up to the majority of status reps to decide.

No, you're not understanding, it wasn't just the chairmen. The pilot group was very, very ticked off and did not want any involvement. Their were threats of recalling any rep who agreed to anything like this with Mesa (or anyone else). It was not a pretty scene.

Correct. NWA Inc bought the operating certificate from the bankruptcy proceedings of Independence. NWA initially kept the Compass headquarters next to Dulles where Indy Air was based and kept the required officials on payroll to reinstate the operating certificate. NWA made it somewhat easier by transferring a Mesaba CRJ-200 to Compass' certificate so it could start flying quicker, using a familiar airplane (CRJ) rather than trying to reactivate the op certificate with a whole new aircraft type - the E75.

Ummm, LCC doesn't own any of the 38 900's that Mesa fly's. Mesa either owns them or they are leased.

If I had to guess, Mesa, Airways and another regional will work out a deal where Mesa and Airways extend the 900 contract and then the airline is sold. Probably by the end of the summer. No inside info just an educated guess that seems to make the most sense for everyone.

My hunch is quite the opposite. It's wishful thinking to believe that something will be done that makes "the most sense for everyone".

I stand corrected. Here are the airplanes and who ownes them.
Only 14 that i can count are owned by Mesa.
The others are Wells Fargo.

As for the Fee For Departure...I hope that is dead in the water.
In a perfect world it might work, but in reality there is no way a pilot at another airline deserves a job elsewhere unless of a merger.

I'll go for Fee for Departure as long as everyone signs on to it on the same day. If we really could get every single regional onboard, that would be the best possible outcome for all of our careers. That said, we don't live in utopia and not everyone would sign up so it would just amount to a windfall of seniority to any failing airline that had that agreement with any non-failing airline.

But if everyone was a party to it.... Awesome! End the whipsaws.

Amen! I totally agree. They do not deserve to be mixed into a seniority list just because their airline goes under.
