Mesa Air Group Chapter 11 Info

But I'm certain it's better than whatever OJ is offering you guys these days.

back on track
Mesa Air Group received relief today on providing financial reports to the court until the later of March 5th or five days prior to the Section 341 Meeting. This is one of the only meetings MAG will have to personally attend during the proceedings. This is the meeting where MAG will have to "fairly and honestly" represent their assets, income and debts under oath before the creditors and the trustee. This information will be vital in helping all parties to the bankruptcy determine the viability of MAG. (Remember those "skeletons" I was talking about? MAG better come clean before the courts or the trustee and creditors may not be inclined to restructure).

hslightnin,
MAG's full financials don't have to be divulged until the later of March 5th or five days prior to the Creditor's Meeting. That meeting was scheduled to commence yesterday. There should be some information soon resulting from that. MAG did submit a MOR (Monthly Operation Report) on Feb. 24th (See post #459).
As far as the reorganization plan goes, only MAG can file a plan of reorganization prior to May 5th (120 days from filing). This exclusive period can be extended by the Judge for up to 18 months.
The submitted plan has until July 4th (180 days from filing) to be accepted. This acceptance date can be extended up to 20 months or reduced by the Judge.
If MAG doesn't file a plan and or obtain acceptance by these dates then other creditors can submit their plans.
Most of these preliminary court dates get extended. Due to the complexity of this case I'm sure it will be stretched well into the summer.
A case management conference is scheduled for April 15th, 2010. Barring a settlement, the court dates of the Delta cases aren't until April 20th in Georgia ("ERJ Litigation") and July 12th in New York ("MFN Litigation").

You can say, again, that everyone knew Mesa would enter bankruptcy and begin lay offs. You can say, again, that anyone maintaining or starting employment at Mesa after 2006 deserves whatever ugly fate awaits them. I strongly disagree.
During my time at Mesa I met terrific people with whom I would love to fly again. If I ran an airline, I would hire them immediately. To you and DashTrashy 3000 they may be some lower life form. To me they are friends being kicked while they are down.
A winning athlete is more admired when gracious rather than insufferable in victory. Whose company would I rather see in bankruptcy, yours or mine? Yours, of course. If that should happen, would I walk into a room full of employees of your company and crow about the pay cuts, layoffs, cut pensions, and other bad news headed their way? Heck no, only a low-life would do that.
You seem glib about what is happening to my friends. I would give more credit to what you have to say if you were not so. I definitely cannot admire someone like DashTrashMan who gets his jollies baiting people and making light of the havoc in their lives.

I really hate to see the Mesa bashing. I have had two friends go from Mesa to big 121 jobs. That would be UPS and USairways. That was years ago, though. Way before Rickair's time. I have a place in Palm Springs now and commute there regularly. I have used Mesa flights out of PHX several times and the crews have been very professional and polite. The only problems I've had with my commute were on a Skywest flight out of LAS. The gate agent told me UPS pilots can't ride on Skywest and that was it. Of course, the gate agent was wrong, but sometimes you just have to smile, nod your head, and hope he's not working the next flight....
I'm no fan of JO, but the pilot group, at least from my perspective, is on par with the pilot group at Skywest with repect to professionalism and how they treat off line jumpseaters.

Jonny's most recent and possibly last gift to me was a furlough. It would be absurd for me to argue which company is better, the one with pilots on furlough, or the other? The dart about the health plan was in response to what I feel is a little too much glee over the misfortunes of others.

So you were a CA at Mesa on the Dash 8 and you are now furloughed? (No, I did not just notice this) So did Mesa furlough all FO's and are now furloughing downgraded captains? Genuine question...not asking to be mean

I am not particularly sympathetic towards the new-comers...all the info was available and it did not take a visionary to see where mag was headed. There were plenty of other jobs to be had back then, unless you were seriously defective or unwilling to CFI to 400 hours.
