By the time this is all done with, I don't expect Mesa to have too many friends in the airline business, banks or equipment lessors. It seems as they have no one left not to alienate.
Mesa may crawl out of this halfway intact, but that seems about as good as it will ever be for them IMO.

A reoccurring theme on here seems to be "Mesa has no friends". I have no proof but I think this may be incorrect. I don't like Mesa and I work there, but this doesn't mean business people can't make money with them. I don't think the bean counters care what name is on an airplane, they care how much it costs to make the thing move. If this wasn't the truth, regional airlines wouldn't exist

I understand what you're saying, but Mesa did not change their bid on the United flying. The Dashs and RJs were kept at their original rates. The flying that is replacing them is done at lower rates, according to worthless Foley. While I do agree that it may be this move that sinks Mesa, it will be inept management missing opportunity not cost of product. Like the ten 700's that we will not be getting with United, it is mess ups by management.

Sorry Dash, Look at what United has done. They gave the 50 seat CRJ contract to another carrier. Its clearly not all about the bottom dollar. At one point it was, and thats what Mesa provided "Bottom dollar service" and we see where it has landed them. I flew in the United system for 5 years and saw all time new lows in the quality of service we provided. I am surprised Mesa has lasted this long.

Per document 304 in the docket it appears both DL and MAG have agreed to have the ERJ case stay in the ATL court and not bring it to bankruptcy. Leg up for DL. Wonder what MAG gets out of doing this?

On another note, I flew with some senior, senior captains in PHX and I've learned that this is not the first time we lost a contract with United either. That being said, who knows where this is going.

We won't know who is to benefit from this until the outcome of the individual trials. I'm not so sure Delta has a big "leg up" considering the Atlanta courts already awarded MAG an injunction and ruled against Delta's appeal.
MAG's proposed "Case Management & Scheduling Order" will be presented to the court on February 19th. It has the "ERJ Litigation Trial" scheduled in Atlanta on April 20th. See post #396. The separate contract assumption case is proposed to transfer to the New York court and the tentative schedule for that trial is July 12th.

Update:
The status conference (regarding the Delta/Freedom code-share agreement) has been continued for February 16th.
On February 19th MAG will present their "Proposed Order Notice of Presentment of Case Management & Scheduling Order". This is MAG's proposed schedule concerning the MAG/Delta litigation issues.
The "ERJ Litigation" trial (Civil Action No. 1:08-CV-1334-CC) is scheduled in Georgia District court on April 20th.
This proposal includes the transfer of the "MFN Litigation" (Civil Action No. 1:09-CV-2267-CC) from the Georgia District Court to the New York Bankruptcy Court. It schedules the trial for the motion assume the ERJ contract on July 12th.
