Mesa Air Group Chapter 11 Info

Releasemaster,
Only if the employee previously filed a proof of claim and it was accepted by the court (unlikely).
MAG was granted approval by the court early on to continue paying wages and benefits to the employees. This prevented most employee claims. ALPA became a representative creditor for the pilots due to a number of unsettled labor grievances (It is standard for major unions to be accepted as creditors during bankruptcy).
Early in the proceedings, as a major employee union, ALPA was appointed Co-Chair to the Unsecured Creditor's Committee. This is probably the closest thing that the employees have to any form of representation.
Claim holders are separated into different classes (secured creditors, unsecured creditors entitled to priority, general unsecured creditors, and equity security holders). An entire class of claims is deemed to accept a plan if the plan is accepted by creditors that hold at least two-thirds in amount and more than one-half in number of the allowed claims in the class.
The court will determine the method of ballot. If the plan is approved then a confirmation hearing will be scheduled.

Update:
It's official, MAG's Disclosure Statement and the assumption of the US Airways contract extension were both approved by the court yesterday. The extension is still contingent on MAG and Bombardier coming to an agreeement and the POR confirmation.
More to follow...

An ex Freedom pilot told me that the rumor mill around Mesa right now is that they want 175's to replace the 145's that have been returned. Anybody hear this? Who would they fly them for? I guess they could replace the 900's for US Airways, but they cant add additional airframes to the US Airways contract.

what i have heard, the 900 is far more efficient than the 175, so i dont think the plan to replace the 9 with embrears is true. And part of the agreement was also to redo the interiors of the 900, and i think acars is on the way. Getting more planes for airways i think is also not true, mesa can i think only fly a certain percentage of aircraft for airways, and they are actually over. So i have heard. With united, who knows. With co wanting to keep theis scope at 50 seats, that is still up in the air. Thats all i got and have heard

Wouldn't it be ironic if MAG got some 50-seat flying for UCAL after dumping 26 of them less than a year ago... this whole CAL scope deal is sure to produce some interesting opportunities for the future, IMO... if it saves us a job at mainline someday, I'll fly a 50-seater all day long - I just hope the Mx is better at exercising the gremlins we've seen in the past (154SF, 715SF... you know who they are). Sometimes you have to do what's best for the greater good of your profession.
