Good news for survivng Mesa pilots (I guess, considering they still work for Johnny O), but bad news for the profession. Mesa's existance will only put more downward pressure on both other regional pilots and major airline pilots as well, as Mesa's "pilots for peanuts" philosophy continues its evolution.

Unfortunate news indeed.

not an insight but an observation that 8 a/c does not a profit make.

Remember,

- Mesa 200 frames won't be replaced.

- Nothing specifically says the Dash has been extended. That contract ends 06/12.

- The first round of 700s contract is up next year and Mesa has suggested subleasing them.

- Mesa still is in BK and nothing is final yet in regards to the POR or this extension.

Substatiate your statement. I disagree.

especially since MDA and a host of others sought to emulate it from mgmt's side

so the pilot count will go down more with the 200s being phased out? Looks like mesa will only operate 39 900s in the years to come?!

Mesa has only 6 dash 8's. I guarantee they make a profit or they would have been gone 3 years ago when the option first came up. Also, how do you fly an RJ to Telluride?
