Yeah OJ might be thinking damages for pain and suffering

The hearing scheduled for today concerning the 20 Beechcraft 1900D Airliners was vacated.

From the United States Bankruptcy Court Southern District of New York:

"Debtors Motion For Authorization Pursuant To Sections 105, 363, 554, and 1110 Of The Bankruptcy Code And Bankruptcy Rules 6003, 6004 and 6007 to (I) Abandon Certain Aircraft, Engines and Other Related Equipment, (II) Transfer Title to Certain Aircraft, Engines and other related Equipment, and (III) Satisfy the Surrender and Return Requirements Under the Bankruptcy Code filed by Maria a. Bove on behalf of Mesa Air Group, Inc..

VACATED: THIS MATTER HAS BEEN RESOLVED. HEARING WILL NOT TAKE PLACE..
"

I wonder if this means some sort of settlement has been achieved with Raytheon?

I suspect OJ picked $70M beacuse that's about what Hawaiian nailed him for...he figured if they can do it, why can't he
may seem like a lot to us but a surgical procedure may be worth association with MAG in future press releases among other intangibles.

Default Wichita Eagle: Raytheon/Mesa Article

Wichita Eagle: Raytheon/Mesa Article

"Outstanding principal balance on the planes totals about $33.6 million"

I'll miss the "Mighty Beech"! I just got a tear in my eye.

JO wanted to dump the 1900's and engines in Raytheons lap. Raytheon objected originally, but I guess they decided to suck it up and take the a/c and engines anyways.

Not much of a choice when BK happens. Bombardier and others will all get served Poop Pie. Anytime you have credit extended in high risk ventures and the market turns you assume the credit risk as well. I.E. risk based management. Everyone was willing just a few short years ago to extend credit to airlines now the market is capped and it will be harder to get out of BK without some major realignment of risk. Good Luck Mesa, best thing that could happen would be for Mesa to be purchased at this time. And for the creditors not to blink.

They only like the C models (they are cheaper). At least they did when I was there. Plus, I'm not sure they can get a single pilot type rating on the D model like they do for the C model?
